It means its closes down. So it is not present in taskmanager and if I try to start it in cmd it still gives me the error:
createDIB: CreateDIBSection failed (3840x2076, format: 6) I think it is my database that could be the problem. Is there a way of validating it. I have put many hours in it :| |

Are you using the 32 bit version of calibre? Open a cmd window and start calibre in debug: Code:
calibre-debug -g bernie |

And it would be handy if @Evildon would manage to post the calibre-debug -g output. |

Calibre not starting after update
Hi, my calibre is also not starting after update to 5.3.0.
No window, no process. I tried 64 and 32 bit versions, and restarted my PC once. The error message says "ImportError: DLL load failed while importing html: %1 is not a valid Win32-application." What's the reason? Quote:

Uninstall, delete C:\\Program Files\\Calibre2
(or wherever you chose to install calibre). Then re-install. And dont worry, uninstalling will not affect your books/settings. |
