My PW4 was jailbroken before. I thought I had the hotfix installed to survive an update but Kual isn't launching anymore.

I am now on 5.13.1. Is there a way to test if I can fix Kual and my JB with updates?

At first reboot twice. Reinstall KUAL. If doesn't help try

Hi guys, I just bought a Kindle PW3, the 3G variant specifically G090G4 Kindle PaperWhite 3 (2015) 3G + WiFi (Mexico) alias PW3, PW3GM.

Unfortunately it came with the latest firmware 5.13.2. After reading a while it seems like serial jailbreak is my only option at this point, can anybody confirm this?

Additionally in case serial JB is my only option, I'm looking for serial adaper options and found this .
It seems like the vcc line is 5v so i'll have to use an LDO or level shifter for that line only, correct?. Anyway, can anybody point me in the right direction as to how to start this process?

Hi all, I just bought a PW3 G090G4 Kindle PaperWhite 3 (2015) 3G + WiFi (Mexico) and unfortunately it came with the latest firmware (15.13.2) , can you confirm Serial JB is my only option? I found that PW4 is Jailbreakable on any Firmware, can I try this on PW3.

If not, is this a good option for my Serial Cable? I saw in another thread that someone didn't use the VCC line, TX RX and GND only and it worked. That way I dont have to use a voltage divider or LDO on VCC since in that cable is 5V.

My Kindle auto-updated to 5.12.2 and now I get a blank screen when opening KUAL and my Screensavers hack is gone

Is my JB wiped? What should I do?

That is an Amazon marketing name. Check the device table here:

If your device serial indicates it is a PW4 you can PM as well and see if she can help you.

Not sure if this applies to Oasis 3, but the serial port was finally located on an Oasis model. If this is still present on the Oasis 3 a serial jailbreak should be possible. See this thread:
