I know Go to page was there for a long time. But now we have a different way to do the same thing that's not difficult to use at all. The way I look at it, the only reason to go to a specific page is if you know the number. And I think if you are scrolling to try to find something, I think the new way is easier.

i agree that would be a step in the right direction, but i still think it's easier to tap on the go to page and type in whatever page number you desire. i appreciate fully it's probably a minority opinion/view on here. of course that's nothing new for me.

Yeah, it is a shame the way people are twisting your arm to force you to read.

I don't use Pocket and find it shockingly easy to ignore threads about it without posting about how I'm not interested. What can I say? It's a skill...

Page turns did return. They are the arrows at the top and bottom of the scrollbar.

I'm interested in new firmwares and features. Just not in the 10-pages-long discussion of a minor UI detail, which is no longer even a discussion, but a simple back-and-forth. If it was in a thread of its own, of course I'd ignore it. But it isn't.

I'm looking at an unpatched KA1. That 'Page x of y' mock-up label you've shown occupies a gap which doesn't currently exist in the My Books list view. I estimate the actual gap height is approx. 2mm on a KA1.

Finessing the GUI appearance of the My Books lists is not as easy as you might imagine due to the number of different models and the further complications of not messing up the beta Large Print mode and portrait/landscape views.

I already noticed it with other updates, but my Forma and Clara HD with last updates are connecting with a very weak wifi connection signal ...
With precedent updates, the signal on readers was strong, I am at 1 - 2 meters from my router.
What may be a solution ?

I don't have a solution, but I have noticed the same thing with my Glo HD (which has always been a little shaky about connecting to the wifi at all, but when it did it was always a strong signal) and my Forma, which connects to wifi effortlessly and until recently also always had a strong signal. Like you, I am no more than 2 meters from my router.

The font size you chose is too large and no need to be bold. So nomatter where you put it, it looks off.

If Kobo made the Author tab look identical at the top to the Books, Series, and Collections tab (i.e. sort options in a non-fat pill selection, and the ... on the far right which allows for a few options in the other tabs), they could put an x of y page number there. I've looked at a patched Forma, an unpatched Forma, and a Aura H2O v1 to consider this placement. I think this would even work with large print mode enabled, though it may be a bit crunched. Not that I think that'd look particularly good overall, it wouldn't be clear from a UI/UX stance that those numbers related to the pages of the tabs.

Honestly I'd wait before whinging too much over the current UI/UX changes. I agree with David that this feels like the start of a slow overhaul. The fact that the tabs aren't even universal in appearance (why is Authors the -only- one w/ a highlighted filter selection pill, no cover view, etc).

While I don't disagree with you that koboy is drastically overestimating the number of people who care about the removal of this feature he did say those who aren't lamenting the feature being dropped "probably" didn't use it much or at all.

But try not to put much stock in these complaints, he's also whinged about Kobo since around or before the H2O v1 era, and is very obviously nitpicking over this feature to reaffirm his decision to stick with the tiled home screen version of the firmware. In my opinion there is little short of bringing that home screen back that Kobo could do that'd satisfy Koboy in terms of UI/UX, any other change he doesn't love is just icing on the cake.

I find it's much easier to treat his statements the same as many do a certain other persons claims that you must absolutely use a case for your ereader, or their railings against USB C, and how Nook has sheathed their devices in rubber.
