Which was not my point. In the post I quoted, you made the announcement of an amazing discovery about the display of the page number while dragging the pill (a Kobo calls it). I was pointing out that you were demonstrating your usual excellence in reading and responding to posts. Just as you are in this response.

My post was a specific response to your assertion that those not lamenting its loss were those who did not use it. All generalizations are dangerous.

Are you saying that you didn't suddenly discover that function and mention it? And that no-one had previously mentioned it in this or any other thread?

i'm saying yes i realised by using the UI my original comment about not being able to see what page number i was on was wrong. hence the reason why i edited my comment accordingly to give the correct information, even though i knew full well someone would latch on to it.

two others besides myself also didn't realise it showed the page number. take a look at posts 55,57. when i make an honest/genuine mistake i admit it straight away i don't wait for someone else to point it out to me.

And you still don't get it. My issue is that your post makes it sound like a new feature that you had just discovered and no one else had ever seen. And I was pointing out the fact that it was clearly discussed in this this thread and that you had not bothered to pay attention to that discussion.

One enhancement that would be good would be to have the page numbers visible on the My Books screen.

I know Go to page was there for a long time. But now we have a different way to do the same thing that's not difficult to use at all. The way I look at it, the only reason to go to a specific page is if you know the number. And I think if you are scrolling to try to find something, I think the new way is easier.

Having just updated my KA1 and tried it, all I can say is that no, it isn't easy.
Sometimes it just seems impossible to scroll to the correct page, it will jump from 106 to 108 and back again, but I can never select 107.

It isn't unusable, I can get close enough and then use page up/down to get where I want, but it isn't great. If I had a lot fewer books loaded, it would probably be fine.

For me the change is fine, and probably on the whole better than it was before, but the inaccuracy and seeming low resolution of the touch detection makes it less good than it could be.

i see, so you honestly think my wording of (i've just found out) makes it sound like it's a new feature that Kobo just added? if so i couldn't disagree more.

i'm not sure how you made the leap from (i've just found out) to translating that as meaning a brand new hot off the press Kobo feature. that being said i will amend it slightly to clear up anymore possible future confusion.

btw. when it comes to my behaviour i always try to be polite.

NickelMenu is not dead. You just have to install the current 0.3.2 version. I did that and now NM is working once again. You just install it the same way. No need to uninstall first.
