Frozen screen: fixable?
I got hold of a Kobo Glo to tinker with, but it has this frozen screen (see attachment).
Do the assembled wisdom reckon this may be fixable? Or not? |

Screen dead? Or the device overall? Or makes no difference, no way to fix, just harvest parts?

Everything else about the unit seems to be fine: it charges, the frontlight switches on and off, the wee reset button on the base works and it reboots. For some reason can't get it to switch off...
I'm considering getting a replacement screen as they seem quite inexpensive. May be a "fun" project. Before I do I shall try and disconnect the battery, then reconnect to see if this resolves the powering down issue. |

Okay disconnected/reconnected battery, rebooted just fine as far as it goes (blinking LEDs, frontlight on/off no problem, etc.).
Screen definitely cracked by the looks of it. AliExpress here I come... |

Well the screen arrived from China. That was quicker than expected!
When I get some time I will take the Glo apart and remove the old screen, connect up the new one... |
