The new series feature makes the need to pin collections not at all important. The collections I have left since I dropped the series based collections is small enough that I can easily scroll them no problem.

There was no series feature like there is in 4.20 and 4.21. And given the new series feature, we don't need series based collections. So there wouldn't be any way to pin a series.

They aren't that much larger, but you can get larger covers on the home screen by enabling either "Increase home screen cover size" or "Remove footer (row3) and increase cover size on new home screen" in nickel.yaml in the patches.

They way I look at it, the old home screen is not worth missing out on the fixes and new features.

Nothing, but the patch also allows you to enlarge the book covers with the patch so it fills up more of the screen. It's nice looking, clean and uncluttered.

I wouldn't mind if they did some sort of visual refresh to the tiles. Of course, I wouldn't mind the tiles as they were, either. There's no reason Kobo couldn't bring them back exactly as they were if that's what they chose to do.

In general, I just preferred the reflowable, customizable nature of the tiles to the more static home screen we have now.
