new Kobo model?

As mentioned in the News forum, Good e-Reader is reporting a new Kobo model being tested by the FCC. The FCC link shows a Kobo Nia with 16GB of internal storage. Another of the few times, Good e-Reader has gotten a story right...

That's a very good thing that there is no USB-C. It mens there won't be users buying a dodgy cable that can damage the Reader, charger, and/or computer.

but some of us already have multiple USb C chargers and cables for other devices, and have successfully avoided burning down the house with dodgy cables.
so usb C is more convenient

we are close to the tipping point ( well I am there already) where the number of uSB C devices has the majority, and I am having to keep b cables only for the laggards

the world is moving to USB C, whether you like it or not...

someone in Brussels will mandate it for all of EU, at some point, they are already on a standardisation crusade cut reduce the wasteful number of mobiel chargers in ciculation

Why another? Replacing Kobo Aura 2 On the Kobo website, she disappeared from the sale. The cheapest option.

That would be just for cell phones. Readers are not a cell phone. What we need is for USB-C to go away and a USB-D come along to fix the problems.

a new Kobo ereader/model as usual leaves me underwhelmed. hoping to be wrong.

edit: has mentioned here https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=329093 at post 15. if the SD card is embedded (soldered on) it might be tricky to say the least to replace it if the need to do so ever arises.

Not interested in any 6'' model, which it probably is. Of course I have no need whatsoever for a new device, having bought 3 new ereaders in 2019. Plus I really have to be a bit more economical with my finances this year.

May be I'll wait a new Forma (or a 10.3" device, never say never) with colours. I already own a 6" device and I bought Kobo Aura One because I wanted something larger.
But anyway any new reader is a new possible choice so it is a good news.

i have the Aura 6" original from 2013/14 with external micro SD card storage available up to 32GB, so 16GB is obviously a downgrade to me. i'm also no fan of internal micro SD cards that are glued/soldered on.

the so called Comfort light Pro holds very little/virtual no appeal for my personal preference.

edit: i'd like a new 6" Kobo ereader with page turns buttons on both sides of the bezel similar to the Kindle Voyage.
