How list calibre library folders by document title instead of author's names?

In the calibre library folder, each folder is named after the author name of the document that was converted. Is there a setting in calibre to make the folder names be the actual title of the document that's converted instead of the author's name? If not, there should be such an option in the calibre settings.

I don't understand what you mean, but can you tell me how?

Anyways, what I meant was is in the calibre library folder, there are folders that are named after the authors of the documents that I converted or imported into calibre. How do I make calibre name the folders after the document titles instead of the authors' names? Here's a screenshot of the calibre folder.

Oh, I didn't think that was a link. Anyways, Calibre should list the folders according to the title of the documents imported into the program, not by author name. It's not very intuitive. How in the world are you going to find the converted document you want to pull out of the library? If you don't know the author's name, the only way is to open every folder and look in there to see if the document you want is present. Otherwise, you have to look at the author's name in Calibre and then open up that folder in the library. It's very inconvenient either way!

You don't 'pull' a document out of the library. You use the Save to Disk feature, which saves your document wherever you want. And the template for saving to disk can be customized to whatever you want the document name to be.

You have also have inconsistent metadata that you need to clean up (which Calibre will adjust the names as part)

Get the Quality Check plugin (and use it )
It will help quickly identify various issues, like:
Authors Ln, Fn and others are Fn Ln <this one was obvious from your image>
The cure for this if Use the Fix (section ):Swap ON THE SELECTED

other issues have their own bulk methods, it will take time to become a proficient Calibr user for these types.

If you want to carry, store, or otherwise play with the files outside of Calibre, you can make sure to convert all your books to a format of your choice, 'select all', and save them to disk separately.

You can go to "Preferences" and "Saving Books to Disk" and set it up so you can save the books in any way you want. I save mine in folders based on tags, then the files themselves are given the title and author name in the file name, and then use "Save to Disk" for storage. The settings look like this in "Saving Books to Disk"...

{tags}/{title} - {authors}

Then just select all the books, click "Save to Disk", tell it what format and where, and it'll then store the books where and how you want.

Then you can play with those copies, and I store them in a file manager on my Ipad, and can open the epubs in other apps. So I don't need to connect them to Calibre to carry them around. But *never* touch the way Calibre stores books inside it. It needs them to be that way so it can manage them.
