Happy Thanksgiving

What's everyone having for dinner today?

Roast pork, stuffing, fried green beans & bacon, crescent rolls, cheese & olive platter, and cherry pie.

We did our meal on Sunday because our son and his family had to make a trip to Knoxville and Atlanta this weekend.

Turkey, stuffing, noodles with neck meat, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, rolls, gravy, pumpkin, cherry, and apple pie.

We went out. One had the traditional Thanksgiving meal. One had a burger. One had a walleye sandwich. I had pasta with shrimp and lobster in the sauce.

Best Thanksgiving ever.

Turkey, dressing, corn casserole, cranberry salad (or whatever it is called), ham, green bean casserole, dinner rolls, lots of gravy, and pumpkin pie. I can barely move now!

My very large family all got together, except for one sister and her husband. My wife and I brought the main course (a roast turkey breast, stuffing, mashed potatoes, cranberries and sweet potatoes)* and my brothers and sister brought various vegetable dishes, a couple of pies, a cheescake, etc.

* To be honest, we bought most of these items pre-made and picked them up on our way to my Dad's for the family dinner. For many years we held the Thanksgiving dinner at our place and I did all of the cooking. I like it better this way!

Today was the third day of eating with various relatives, but my first traditional Thanksgiving dinner. Turkey, stuffing, gravy, cranberry sauce, mashed spuds, sweet potatoes, butternut squash, roasted sprouts, green bean casserole, pumpkin pie, apple crisp and champagne. I'm generally not a huge fan of stodge, but there's something about Thanksgiving dinner....

I chopped up some leftover turkey and added some mayo to make a turkey salad sandwich for lunch. Pretty good. Turkey is rather versatile when it comes to getting creative with the leftovers. The cats also got a large portion of turkey too! They love it, without the mayo of course.

I went to my Pastor's house for supper. Turkey, stuffing, green bean cassarole, corn cassarole, chutney, mashed potatoes, a roll, and pecan or pumpkin pie for dessert.

All of the leftovers are gone, company left yesterday, Hubby goes back to work tomorrow.

There is some apple pie left, dropped off the pumpkin that was left to dear daughter.
