Also, screen refresh is set to chapter in Libra. Glyhps lost their sharpness after the first page. I always read by refreshing with every page turn.

Same here. I do it with all my ereaders, except for the Nook, which doesn't let you customize page refresh.

My Libra (got it the day it came out in Canada) has already started being super slow. Every time I turn a page, it takes more time than it used to. I wanna finish my book and try to remove it from my device and then try with another book but I was wondering if anyone else has had that issue.

For reference I read almost every day between 1 and 3 hours.

Having had a day to experiment with a new Libra I can confirm you're dead on with your assessment. The improvements regarding PDFs are marginal but I'll hang on the Libra anyways. Better contrast, sharpness and front lighting as well as addition of page turn buttons add up to an improved experience compared to the six year old Aura HD.

Not really, no. How many books do you have on the device? I have around 2500 kepubs (with 2GB of memory still free) and more than 100 shelves and everything is working as normal. It might be an issue with the book you're reading?

I only have 15 books I remove them as I finish them. I’ll try with another book and see how it reacts.

What do you think of the covers?
I like the sleep function, but i feel like it may add too much weight to such a light device, and the grip with one hand you always have to keep the cover from dangling.
Isn't a pocket fabric case better? It protects it only in the bag without losing comfort.
Also is the original cover better than the amazon 15€ ones? It's very expensive i don't understand if justified or not ahah

I'm shopping around for a cover now, too. I've had my Libra for about a week (I really like it so far), and have somewhat gotten used to a lot of the features. I've put 1000ish books on it for now, but without a cover on it, I just can't bear to take it outside of my house. There doesn't seem to be a lot of options yet for covers. Anyone know of a good Libra cover seller? Not the official Kobo ones, please, as those seem overpriced.

There are some links for covers in here

I personally bought a sleeve through Etsy.

If it were me I'd be keeping an eye out for a Gecko cover - they bring out covers for all the Kobos so hopefully it shouldn't be long.

I bought a felt sleeve on Etsy in the same colour as the blue sleepcover and I'm very happy with it, but I'm not planning on bringing the Libra outside the house, my Glo HD (and its by now battered sleepcover) are the ones getting thrown around my backpack or purse. The sleeve is thick and made to fit the Libra so that it doesn't slip out accidentally, but it's obviously not rigid, so...

I've got the original one from kobo.

Adds a little weight but not that much. Only concerns if one is planning on very long sessions one handed

I don't like the way it folds to hold up on portrait orientation though, it becomes a little lopsided under the weight.

@FrustratedReader: the sacrifices needed to get that many ebooks on a 8GB Kobos are pretty steep. I cleaned all of my "real" ebooks with the Calibre plugin, reduced the quality of the internal images by 20% and removed all internal covers to save space and send only the one downloaded by me via metadata search, and I could fit 2500 kepubs in 4.5 GB on my Libra. Considering that internal size is not 8GB because some space is taken by the system...
I do disagree with removing the cover. It doesn't save much.

Text PDF's are unwieldy with the Aura HD, even in landscape mode. With PDF's do the Libra's page turn buttons advance through a page (if only a portion of it is displayed) and then on to the next page upon reaching the bottom?
If you really have to have PDF, I suggest installing KOReader as it does a much better job with PDF then the built-in PDF reader.

And yes, KOReader will run well on the Libra and allow you to strip the extra wide margins so the text is larger.

I bought one of their covers once.It had to go back as the magnets were not lined up correctly. I didn't try a different one as I bought a kwimoble cover and I rather like it it and it's been the one I've been using for 5 years.
