I received yesterday night my Libra, First impression : I really like it !
It is my first e-reader and I had some apprehension about the asymmetric design. The Libra is very light and I figured out that you can even hold it both side without rotating it each time. I am very happy of my purchase and now I need to buy a cover in order to take it with me when I travel. |

These are nice comparison pictures. Thanks! To my eyes the Oasis 3 has a little better contrast, but it should at the price difference. I'm not in the market for either, but it's always nice to see what's out there.

BTW, I had issues with the USB cable that came with my Libra. It was eager to disconnect at any moment, when I so much as breathed on it. Now I use the Oasis cable and no issues so far. (But I've had bad cords from Amazon too, so it's not only a Kobo issue).

@Sirtel: Did they go with the quirky reversible USB plug like on the Forma?

Not the user you're talking to, but I find it more comfortable to hold than my Aura H2O. The Libra is a bit lighter and with the handle on the side it feels very stable in your hand, regardless of whether you like the buttons or not.

I still have a Voyage, but only use my Libra to read because I love that it doesn't have a flush screen. But every time I compare the Libra to my Voyage, the Voyage screen is easier on my eyes, it looks calmer(?). The Libra screen looks computer-like, does that make sense? But only in the dark btw. Am I that oversensitive to 'flickering' or do more people have this? I don't like the cold design of the Oasis, but I do love the screen. Screen or overall niceness of the options and how the device looks... what's more important... ![]() |

My Kobo Aura H2O is superior screen to the PW3 or PW4 with no light on. Less difference with front light on. Better than any other ereader I've seen.
I suspect capacitive touch reduces ambient brightness compared to IR as it needs additional layer(s) and transparent conductive material. My Kobo Touch C is the worst screen of any ereader I've ever seen, tested or had (Sony PRS350, Sony T1, original Sony in a shop, Nook Simple Touch, Original Kindle Keyboard, Kindle w/o touch or QWERTY, DXG, Touch, PW2, PW3, PW4, Iriver Story Cover) due to ghosting, though 4.17 and 4.18 are less ghosting than when I got it earlier this year. |

@SusanReads: That's one of the first thing I noticed on the Forma (not at all on the H2O, FWIW), and then I realized... I actually quite like it. It suits a page of text pretty damn well
![]() (EDIT: Err, speaking of the "grainy/noisy" aspect of large flat color regions in particular). |

@Gio.Bru: See this thread.
With a rather large caveat that you'll probably want to wait a few weeks for KOReader's 2019.10 release, as 2019.09 does *NOT* support the Libra. (Current nightlies do, but that's another can of worms). |

@NiLuJe: thank you for answering...
I read the thread and tried and tried again, but I haven't solved anything. I will observe your advice. I will wait for version 2019.10. Thanks a lot. |
