I figured out how to stop the search bar hiding text and how to make the Percent Read not come and go - set top and bottom margins to non zero. The default settings for the margins in the beta is zero, maybe they should be changed to ??.
If I search for something and its not found I get an intrusive pop up message that can only be dismissed by using a mouse left click on its black X - after which I can't move the text with the keyboard until I move it with the mouse scroll wheel Ψ³ BR Last edited by BetterRed; 09-29-2019 at 06:07 AM. |

This is from a portable 3.99.8 installed a few minutes ago
This is from a portable 3.99.8 installed on Friday (late) that I altered this afternoon The loss of keyboard interactivity also happens if I pop the search box and hit escape BTW Ctrl/t and Ctrl/f are not working for me and I can't see that anything else is using them - I changed Ctrl-T to Ctrl+Alt+T and its fine, I'll have to change the other one - interestingly Ctrl+F works in Firefox, my file manager, and Chrome happily enough. @BR: The default top/bottom margins are 20 however there was a bug in the viewer settings migration code where if there were no previous viewer settings, the top and bottom margins were being set to zero. Now fixed.

As I try to implement vertical writing-mode and rtl page-progression-direction, I find something strange.
Writing-mode is a css property. It works well in QtWebEngine and I dont need to touch anything. But when I scroll the page in flow mode, the content disappear and the chapter name will be the name of previous chapter. If the window is resized, the content appear again and chapter is correct. Inspector shows that contents are always there and just invisible. Any changes in scroll implementation dont affact. Such could be reproduced with offical build, by use shortcut key instead. Any idea? Ive put an epub with vertical text and rtl page-progression-direction here. |

You might recall I had a loss of window size issue when switching between 3.47 and 3.99 - see post #18. Given the fact that my settings were not migrated, and I had the Qt induced window size problem, I uninstalled the 32bit version and installed a fresh portable. But all that's largely irrelevant, but the loss of keyboard functionality after using search is very relevant. It's just the Search Tool that does that - and maybe the Error popup. Using the ToC or Lookup tools does not lead to loss of keyboard functionality. A couple of general points. Why doesn't the viewer have a regular context menu - including normal keyboard pop (e.g Menu-Key and Shift+F10) and keyboard navigability. I really don't see what advantage an irregular 2 column table, which can only navigated via mouse buttons, has over a vertical list that can be accessed and navigated via mouse buttons or the keyboard like every other application I have - including 4 browsers, and many WTL, WPF, and UWP applications - and the calibre library manager of course. Would it be possible to have an option to not show a false cover if there isn't real one - it's really off-putting to open a book or hit Ctrl+Home and be presented with something that doesn't exist. Happy to raise a request post release. BR Last edited by BetterRed; 09-29-2019 at 06:57 PM. |

@BR: IIRC color schemes are not migrated, since they are too different in how they work between the two viewers. And your search box focus issue will be fixed, assuming I can replicate it, when I have the time.

@nqk: As I said, there is a role="doc-footnote" there use that in your CSS.

@Aeroblast: I tried scrolling in flow mode with the left and right arrow keys and the content did not disappear.
