Not worth $250 to upgrade, imo, too big for me, probably bad battery life if it's like the last one, and I'd rather have the money.

I wouldn't buy one for a third of that. I read 20 to 30 minutes a day on my Oasis and have to charge it every third day. It gets old.

I read certainly longer than that almost every day and charge my Oasis about every 2 weeks or so, sometimes even less often.

Someone mentioned that it's not compatible with previous magnet covers, so the weight change may be due to the removal of magnets.

The Oasis 2017 weighs 194g, that's practically same as the Forma.

tbh it wouldn't surprise me if they further cut battery capacity to make it lighter.

They certainly couldn't have added much if it's got 13 more LEDs and is 6g lighter.

I would assume the removal of magnets as @plainbriny mentioned above - they don't offer charging and whole magnetic-case thing was a fiasco anyways (i.e., Amazon discontinued them after brutal review and replaced them with full-cover case). There'd be no sense in keeping them and removing them could account for an easy weight drop (and I would guess less change in manufacturing side of things too)

If that's true, then it definitely rules it out for me (could you possibly link to that info?). I have one of those magnet covers and really love it, and had assumed that this one would work with it too since it is the same size. For me, the color temp would be nice to have, but not at the expense of giving up my old cover.

An even smaller battrery would be a major minus point against this (unless they have discovered some way to boost battery efficiency vastly, though that seems unlikely).

God they’re really sticking to that awful design. I‘m actually a bit disappointed as I was hoping that yellow light would come in a new package. I want a replacement for my Voyage (battery worn out) but with a larger screen and yellow light. Getting this would get me the large yellow screen, but in an awkward, cold case with pretty much the same battery life as my used Voyage.

Regarding the magnets, it's a speculation in Chinese forums based on the change of case design. Amazon didn't mention it and we can only find out if it's true after 7/24 release date. But I think it's very likely.
