Hi, I can’t seem to grasp how to make a Norwegian Bokmål dictionary. Would you mind converting this one for me? I would really appreciate it

How to convert BGL to Stardict

1. Launch stardict-editor 3.0.1.
Get it here

2. Press "Browse" and choose your .BGL file.
3. Select "BGL file" on the bottom left of the window.
4. Press "Build" next to it. File with the same base name, but with a .babylon extension will be created.
5. Press "Browse" and choose the file with the same base name, but with a .babylon extension.
6. Select "Babylon file" on the bottom left of the window.
7. Press "Build" next to it and get StarDict files with .dict, .idx, and .ifo extentions.

Unfortunately, dictionary at your link looks broken: stardict-editor reports error.

Interestingly, for some entries, it provides the pinyin pronunciation, but for others it doesn't. For some entries, it also provides the traditional character if the character it is looking up is in simplified form. That can be very handy, especially when reading classical Chinese.

Many thanks. Now I'm sure that the stardict version works well.
I tested the kobo version from the previous post with the new firmaware version (that finally reads the chinese fonts) and it doesn't work; I think there's some problem with the penelope conversion....
So, my question is: if anyone of you wants to try the stardict -> kobo conversion is welcome. I'll put again the link with the stardict files down here

I can't convert .xml to stardict dictionary. It says ''permission denied'' when i try to convert via penelope. I tried this line:

Can someone convert this .xml dictionary to stardict format?:

Attached Kobo version converted by Penelope 3.1.3 from Semwize's Stardict (if you still needed).
BTW, your XML file is not good, all penelope versions report successful conversion but result is a ~200 Byte fake.

I converted Wordnet 3 Infused English -Turkish. I improved it with:

Moreover I've found a link in this same thread of a tr-tr dictionary (It could be useful when the tr-en fails to find a word)
