I don't think the stock Kobo software will read mobi, and you might have to convert the rtf to txt or epub. The rtf can be easily converted to txt in windows. You should be able to use calibre to convert to epub.

Luck;

I made a factory reset after upgrading for the newest software then installed kobo files monitor, and now it's readin epub, mobi and pcr as well. I don't know why, but i'm happy with it

If you search the Kobo forum, you will find a lot of complaints concerning wifi (on devices with and without modifications). Since we are in the current situation unable to find the specific source of the problem, I would recommend that you re-install the firmware (see here). When installing it, select "install partial update" (not "install update"). If wifi still does not work, install the firmware that you had before the last update.
How exactly do i uninstall koreader? just delete the folder from the .add folder?
What i want to do now is:
Uninstall everything (koreader, ksm)
Do a factory reset
start from scratch and maybe this time it will work.
2 questions -
1. How do i uninstall ksm and koreader?
2. if i do a factory reset will it safely wipe out everything without bricking the device?
Thanks for the help.

If you factory reset the device, there is no need to unistall anything. Everything will be wiped out automatically. And yes, by design it does this without breaking the device.

To uninstall Koreader: delete the folder koreader from .adds.

To uninstall KSM: select "tools" > "ksm diverse.msh" > "delete KSM.sh" (this will delete the part of KSM that is located on the system partition and restart the device, which will boot into nickel); then delete the folder kbmenu_user from .adds.

The Kobo software does support MOBI format. And it's listed on the specs page. It seems to do a reasonable job whenever I test it. It will also do TXT as long as it is less that 2MB in size. And the specs page also says it supports RTF, but I don't think I have ever tried one.

Not yet, but I hope that KSM 09 will help finding a solution.

I am seeing this with my first generation touch.

It appears that this is because the ar6000 driver uses wlan0 as the interface name rather than eth0. I also noticed that ksm is attempting to load the freescale wireless drivers rather than the ar6000 ones.

I haven't attempted to fix this in ksm, but I was able to get wifi working with koreader by modifying the scripts to use wlan0 instead of eth0. I assume something similar would work in ksm.

Thank you for the lead. Could you try the replacements for wifi_enable_dhcp.sh and wifi_disable.sh?

I gave them a try, but it still isn't working. I think at least part of the issue is that the detection code in scriptmenuwifi.sh isn't looking for ar6000.ko and depends on two modules being loaded, but for ar6000, sdio_wifi_pwr.ko isn't used.

Thank you again!
I think the script from yesterday was trying to load ar6000.ko. "ar6000" is expected to be the value of WIFI_MODULE in the case of the PLATFORM being "freescale". I did however not understand that sdio_wifi_pwr.ko must not be loaded. So here is my next try.
