Hi guys.
I've been looking for the best way of running conversions from EPUB to AZW3 without having any side effect on resulting file. However, I just can't understand why Calibre changes the default values of the <hr/> tag to end with a line with a different appearance. Check attached files to see what I mean. How could I deal with this without having to define a CSS class to <hr/>? |

It's called a user agent stylesheet -- the default css that is applied to all elements. Look at the file resources/templates/html.css in the calibre isntallation directory.

That is what I expect, leave for the user agent to apply its default values, but if Calibre insert "its own default values" it won't happen.
After your post I took a look at the file you mentioned and I guess that if I change things there will reflect on this process, but this kind of change is problematic and probably will be lost at next Calibre's update. Could a check box which features something like "don't change CSS or any format" be added to the conversion feature of Calibre to features something like a "copy/paste" from one file type to another? |

Anything shipped in the installed resources directory can be overridden in the configuration resources directory. The overrides will survive Calibre updates. BR Last edited by BetterRed; 10-30-2017 at 02:00 AM. Reason: added last sentence |
