But whatever... Yes, I do think there's a nice little space--price and feature-wise--between Paperwhite and Oasis. That's where the Voyage sits. It's a little better than the Paperwhite. Has a flush screen, page press buttons, a lighter design. And the Oasis is a little better with a metal back, larger display, waterproofing.

Do you really think there's no space between the $120 Paperwhite and the $250 Oasis? What feature would you add or take away from the Voyage to make that space more logical in your mind?

I see a very clear separation between the PW and the Voyage: flush glass screen, largely metal case, page turn buttons, adaptive light sensor. What I was saying is that I now see very little separation between the Voyage and the Oasis, so I wouldn't be the slightest bit surprised to see Amazon quietly drop the much cheaper Voyage to maximise revenue in the "premium reader" market from the more expensive Oasis.

Well, the separation between the Voyage and new Oasis is enough for me! Bigger display, huge storage, real buttons and walk-reading in the rain. That's the one I'm getting!

Me too! 32GB WiFi model and leather cover on order . I've had my Voyage for three years, which is longer than I've ever used any eInk device for previously, so it'll be a nice upgrade.

I have decided I want one, even though I bought my 3G Voyage last year when I retired. I'm going to use that out and about and on holidays leaving the Oasis for home, and the bath of course . I just would really prefer to buy it from John Lewis so I'll have to wait and see if they have the 32GB device on release date.

I'm hoping to get the wifi, I can't justify the 3G again.

The extra money for the 3G isn't worth it for me, personally. I buy 3G on those devices I need internet access on (e.g. my iPad has it), but I just don't need it on a Kindle. If I come across something in a book that I need to look up, I use my phone to do it.

Right, and it’s pretty easy to fire up hotspot on the phone and connect through that should the need arise.

I was late to the Voyage (got it for $150 on a one day sale last year, almost exactly a year ago), but found it dramatically better than the Paperwhite I’d bought a few months earlier, and is just really the nicest Kindle I’ve had. I was never that interested in the Oasis because of the weird charging cover (and no 3rd party options) and lack of auto brightness.

But I think I’ll be getting Oasis 2 because of the larger screen and more ergonomic design (including ‘real’ page turn buttons). Probably get some sort of sleeve for it until some third party covers come out that I like.

For someone right handed, the Oasis 2, is far from ergonomic. The place you hold is on the left side. Turn it over to move it to the right and the cover opens the wrong way. Way to go Amazon.

Keep going! You can do it! I think you've almost convinced one or two readers to not buy a Kindle this month. A few thousand more posts pissing all over the threads of a product you'll never buy might actually make a dent in Amazon's bottom line. This will certainly bring much satisfaction to your life!
