Yeah, I wear an eye mask all night too. My eye muscles don't relax with any light, and I wake up still tired, or worse yet headachy. I like eye masks molded from soft foam, with a bulge over the eyes -- so your eye lashes don't brush the surface.

After looking on the websites of the two main drugstores in the UK it looks like the both have the same bamboo mask.

I also checked AliExpress and the most popular one is a 3D molded one. Not sure if that will work for me; I fall asleep when laying on my side and I tend to turn my face towards my pillow. But they only cost about €0.50, so I'll order one to try it.

The 3D molded one sounds like the kind I like, but I sleep flat on my back (well, on a wedge pillow, so not flat, but .... ) which makes masks fit better.

I've reached the point of desperation where I'm considering this one: https://www.amazon.com/PolarBlack%C2...dp/B071JVB44Y/ but it's not cheap, for a sleep mask. On the other hand, if it works, it will be worth it. Especially given that I seem to end up buying new ones constantly, as the situation is now.

I don't know what the so-called "special" velcro is, but it's true that I currently have a molded mask that does have velcro that does NOT tangle in my hair, which is a biggie for me (as the mop is down to my waist, and tangles=bad).

If I break down and get it, I'll let you know if it works for me.

I couldn't wear an eye mask at night, I tend to sleep with my face jammed into the pillow, turned just enough so I can breathe.

The light on my VCR/DVD player dims and so does my clock radio. The cordless phone is blocked by a stack of books and I throw a thick hand towel over the cable box to block that light. Stupid design of lights inside it and an open weave pattern on the top for all those lights to shine thru. I swear it's like sunlight in my room otherwise. In deference to it not overheating, I keep a small corner uncovered at night and take the towel off first thing in the morning.

But my understanding is that the coffee isn't amazing, so...I'll stick with my old-skool French press. It works, and if the computer goes wonky, I don't end up with Earl Gray instead. (Yes, yes, before someone just has to correct me, I know that's not how it works. You understand the point.) Plus, the FP takes up de minimis counter space.

The soft ones wouldn't remotely interfere with that, FWIW. The 3D/Sculpted kind, a bit, but the soft ones--silk and other kinds--really won't.

Thanks for telling me that, Wodin. It's always hard to judge someone else's "excellent cuppa" is, but I'll try those if I break down and order the Keurig (or other K-cup type). I keep debating, if I get one, which type; seems to be a plethora available

Having spent a wonderful weekend in Seville some years ago I heartily agree, possibly the very best coffee I've ever drunk. It's a shame that the cups were so small though.

I have a Siemens EQ5 espresso coffe maker. Put in whole beans, water, perhaps some milk if you like that (Macchiato aaahhhhh). The best thing I ever bought. And the strenght is variable, from mild to undrinkable morning strong.

Geeze, what is this?

I do not get it.

Mr. H has been identity-thieved, AGAIN. Now, I don't think we're above being identity-thieved, but what I don't understand is, why it's him, and not me. I shop online constantly, and all over the globe. Between my business and my own personal shopping, I probably buy stuff online at least 3x weekly. Since my shoulder issues, I buy a lot more online than I used to.

Mr. H, on the other hand, hardly shops online at all. The few sites he buys from are secured (I've triple-checked). I do NOT get it.

Another teenager, this time--bought from HumbleBundle and some other anime-poster place. (sigh). Last time, it was someone who at least had some taste--bought Burberry coats! ;-)

This is the 3rd time in the last few years. (sigh). It's no big deal; we're protected from this sort of thing, but it's a damn inconvenience. I guess I should be very grateful it's not me, because I have a lot of business and personal autopays set up--redoing all of those, due to a card change, would really suck.

Given the previous two, I suspect the Equifax thing this time has made him a target. He would show on their system as someone who has been successfully (!) identity-thieved (is that even a word?) and it would, of course, show his current cc numbers.

Once they get you, however it was, you're always a target. Second thing to look at is his email. If you can switch him to a local client, rather than directly connecting to a web site, and then change it to always used Plain Text, you have a huge advantage over others. Hey, your mail looks ugly, but those links to gotcha.cn that claims to be eBay show instantly.

Maybe I didn't write that rant correctly.

I literally don't care if you need 8, 10 or even 12 hours of sleep, or if you can make do with 6 or 4. What I dislike is people (in my family) having to vocalize "I'm sooo tired" every time, all the time, and acting generally bored to death.

I don't care if you're tired or bored, but stop aggravating *me* by displaying your tiredness/boredom so ostentatiously.
