eReader is used by many Americans. It's wrong. eReader is an eBook format. It's not the device to read eBooks. So yes, native speakers can get words wrong. it has to be spelled e-reader. But many spell it ereader.

I don't know Jon, at this point I think we can say that the term is diluted enough for ereader and e-reader to be used interchangeably for "A device dedicated to electronic reading"
