I think you got that wrong, buddy. Google Translate lists "Liseuses de livres électroniques" as "EBook readers" (though it translates "Liseuses" as "Reading Lights")

Bing translate lists "Liseuses de livres électroniques" as "Readers of e-books" and "Liseuses" as "E-readers"

I'll stick with Google's version because that is the correct one.

It would seem it's not correct or there wouldn't have been an issue in the first place, no?

Can I offer my modest knowledge of current French, as a native speaker?

"Liseuse", or "liseuse électronique", is commonly used in French (at least in France - we don't have a monopole on the language or its evolution) to mean an electronic device one can use to read ebooks. I suppose the word existed before ereaders, but I cannot remember hearing it used in any other sense.

Checking the Cambridge and Meriam Webster english dictionaries, "liseuse" doesn't have an entry. I believe people have tried to incorporate it, but it hasn't been adopted?

1. Better battery life.

2. Better screen for bright sunlight use.

I borrowed a Paperwhite to try out recently. Lovely screen for reading in the sun. Which I rarely do. I found no advantage in normal room light. I'm very happy reading indoors with my phone mostly, or a tablet.

Pretty sure that whatever the French speaking people using the French word say is correct, is, in fact, correct

Although if you can have a word with the English speaking world to stop using "sick" & "ridiculous" to mean "very good" I'd appreciate it

But I contend that once another language borrows a word, and changes pronunciation or even meaning and spelling, that is every bit as valid as the original meaning and pronounciation. Strong, dynamic, languages do that sort of thing.

I do agree with your point. But in this case, can you find me any examples where native English speakers, in regular conversation, are going around referring to reading lights as liseuse (aside from posters on this board)?

Here's some fun. Since some users assume that Google is more correct than Bing, here is what Google pulls in an image search for liseuse

I can just about accept that you call beef burgers hamburgers despite the lack of pig and I don't want to get onto what you did to aluminium
But the only people I've ever seen use liseuse seem a bit, suspiciously, well, French (or at least French speaking).

That's right, I started a sentence with a conjunction in a cunning attempt to divert away from the francophobia, pretty sure I got away with it
