I don't see what would be objectionable--those affiliates, in many if not most cases, provide a valuable service and they can't do what they do for free. And, for some, probably eReaderIQ included, that is/was their only source of revenue. And if you objected to the affiliate links, couldn't you have always truncated that part of the URL before navigating to the product page?
ADDENDUM: Doesn't MobileRead use affiliate links?

I guess I wasn't clear about why I felt guilty. I have no problem with the affiliate links. I was using eReaderIQ to find the sales, but felt guilty buying them from stores other than Amazon and eReaderIQ wasn't getting a cut. After Amazon canned their account and they turned to other sources of revenue (ads and Patreon), then where I bought the books stopped making a difference to their bottom line.

OIC.

Usually, I have a very sensitive conscience, but for some reason I haven't felt guilty about using ERIQ the way that I do. I suppose that if I did feel guilty about that, I would not want to post something on MobileRead from most third-party sources (and that makes up probably 95% or more of what I post), because I have to strip the affiliate tags(?) before posting. Got to do some more thinking about the ethics involved there.

The knife cuts both ways. A decade and a half or so, I started a couple of Internet micro used book businesses. I signed up for Amazon's affiliate program on the numerous ads for Amazon that I had scattered over the webpages (I actually had one website, long story, I'l skip the details). Anyway, it was taking a while for the business to build up, as I fully expected. Amazon sent me an email basically telling me that I wasn't sending them enough business so they were dropping me as an affiliate. Too bad for them, because the business continued to grow to where I was getting quite a few visitors to my website (and shipping out quite a few used books) per day. Health problems are the only thing that caused me to have to close both businesses.

You didn't come right out and say this, but you implied that you didn't like what Amazon did. I will come right out and say it--it shows a lack of loyalty to a website (eReaderIQ.com) that helped send them a lot of business over the years.

Seems like we may have had a conversation similar to this several years ago, but I might be mistaken.

I am not familiar with Patreon--I'll have to Google them.

This is not my cup of tea at the present. I own a smartphone, that I've never activated (gotten Internet Access and/or telephone service for). I am wedded to my laptop.

However, it seems like I remember someone lamenting the fact that WordSearchBible could not be used on tablets, smart phones, pads, etc. That seems to have changed recently. Check out the following:

Their DRM is strictly ADE, their website makes sense, and they're happy having me download books to my PC without needing a special device, all of which seem too much to ask the others. Christianbook is a close second, but they only have Christian books.

I typically use eReaderIQ for the books that I want. I used to feel guilty because their revenue came from affiliate links, but Amazon killed eReaderIQ's affiliate account, so now it doesn't matter.
Christian books also sell novels.

Very good.

I wasn't sure, and I think that I indicated that. The webpages seemed to convey that they were something new, but those webpages may be the same as the ones as they put up when the apps really were new.

Just trying to be of help. My memory must have failed me about peeps maybe wanting WSB apps.

If you use the Logos software or mobile app, you can get two free books each month. I knew about the one on the Logos site, but I didn't realize until just now that Logos has a Catholic version of the software called Verbum with its own free book. As far as I can tell, the libraries are interchangeable, so any resources you have show up in either version of the software, apps, and Biblia.com.

One nice thing that Logos and Verbum started the last couple of years or so, is to offer the customer an additional book to the free one. The book is not free, but it is always a fantastic bargain--most (maybe all of them that I have seen) are 99 cents or $1.99. Not as good a deal as getting the first one free, of course, but they are still always fantastic bargains in themselves. In case I didn't imply it strongly enough, you have to accept the free one in order to get the super-cheap one. But that shouldn't bother anyone. You cannot go to the regular Logos catalog and purchase just the second book at the 99 cent or $1.99 price, even during the promotion. Not by a long shot.

And, BTW, I've found very few clunkers among either the freebies or the second book, the one that is not free but that you can get at an enormous discount. They are usually recent books, written by highly-qualified authors.

And you don't have to make a note on the calendar to check Logos or Verbum to see what the newest offer(s) are. If you are on their mailing list, they will let you know at least twice (and I think even more often than that) during the month, via email, about that month's offer.

Diffulgia's post has again made me wish that there was a dedicated forum, or at least thread, for Bible software, particularly for the book deals. Like Diffulgia, i run across them all of the time, but I hesitate to mention them in the Bargains forum, and it doesn't seem like there's a more suitable forum on MobileRead for this kind of thing. But, as we've discussed most, if not all, of the major Bible software companies, offer tablet, smartphone, etc. apps now where you can read the books in your software's library. So, how is this different from what gets posted all of the time on MobileRead?

Good ebook deals are so hard to come by today (for me), that I going to post one that's a little below the markdown percentage that I usually like to have as a minimum.

The New Answers Book 1. Chapters are by different anti-evolutionists. Ken Ham is listed as the author, editor. It looks like he does more work as an editor for this book than in authoring. $2.99.

There's probably not much in the book that you haven't seen before, if you've kept up with arguments for and against biological evolution.

Amazon doesn't note this, in any way that I can see on the product's webpage, but the book seems to be geared toward high schoolers, not adults.

Thanks.

I'm sure that if it gets too crowded in here that there will be a solution.

I'm confused.

What do you mean by "right here?" I'm taking that as meaning something other (more specific) than this thread. But, my interpretation of what issybird said is, in fact, this thread; that among the things that we can post on this thread are things that pertain to Bible software and apps of course, with this being a "Bargains, Freebies, etc." thread, they also should be great deals or free, also).

Sorry - Yes, I think she means "this thread". You had the right meaning and I just confused the issue.

I'll go away now ....
