Yup they are about equally as blue then. But the point is, even if it was 100% pure white I would still consider it too blue for my taste. I prefer a cream colored canvas (at the least), even during the day.

I have insomnia issues and whenever I'm reading on my Kindle at night I wear glasses that block blue light. These are the cheap $10 ones that I use. I know this was already suggested but it really works. Hope you find the best solution for you though!

![]() Another thing Ive considered is simply turning the light off and getting a clip-on reading light with warm light. Though youd be surprised at how hard it is to find such lights with a comfy hue! I really cant understand the lack of consumer demand in this area. However, Im getting settled with the Kobo Aura One. The comfort light feels great and although this ereader isnt perfect, sticking with it might be the most convenient thing to do at this point. It is growing on me I admit. |

I actually just ordered the Oasis today and I have the same desire, so if I think of anything else I'll let you know. I was looking at the Kobo Aura One a bit and considering buying it for the warm light, but I prefer Amazon's features OS features (highlight exporting, vocab flash cards, etc.). Ultimately I'll probably just keep using the dorky glasses at night while my girlfriend scoffs at me.

But the demand for warmer screens seems to be a growing trend, with f.lux, Apple integrating the feature, and now recently spotted in the latest Android (Nougat) update. Hopefully in the future I can have the perfect Ereader after all

It might be a good idea for those of us interested in this to send amazon an email to voice some interest.

Im still waiting for my perfect ereader:

-Water/dust proofing -Night mode glowlight for night reading (thanks Aura One!) -No two tone screen gradient on flush screens. . -A "Scroll" effect so that at set time intervals, the screen turns to the next page in 1 fifth/quarter/half steps.... this would make ereading on the treadmill so perfect. I wouldn't have to struggle to turn pages because the ereader would do it for me lol -Physical page turn buttons, and maybe a home button too |

On a treadmill, a touch screen is better than buttons.

I have to say, I agree with OP. I have a top-of-the-line Kindle since the 3G Keyboard. K Keyboard, Paperwhite 1, Voyage, and now Oasis. The lighting on my Oasis is uneven in brightness from left-to-right, has blooms at the individual LEDs, and is decidedly blue on the highest settings. I requested a replacement from Amazon when it was new, and got a replacement unit that had even more uneven light, and even worse bloom. I had to fight with customer support to get them to allow me to return the 2nd unit and keep the 1st.

For a nearly $300 eReader (no ads), the Oasis is extremely disappointing in the lighting department. Everything else with the hardware has been flawless. However, Amazon brought me back to this forum, because of firmware problems causing missing or unrendered text. link All of which is to say, the Oasis is not perfect, which it should have been at the price point, and I am an extremely loyal Kindle user. But idk if these issues are enough to make me ditch the hardware for an aurora... Last edited by genoasalami; 04-05-2017 at 12:32 AM. |
