Question Inserting filename
Hi friends,
- Can I make calibre insert/replace filename of a .pdf file in to the Title field of the file? If yes, how?

@Danesh - are you referring to when you add a book to the library, or when you Save/Send a book from the library?

If it's when Adding a Book to library then

I meant:
1) when adding; and
2) inserting/replacing filename of a .pdf file in to the Title field of the very .pdf file (File > Properties > Description: Title), not in to the calibre (2.70 [64bit]; Windows7 x64)!

Your solution determines for calibre just the place of reading the metadata from. Thank you anyway for your kind help.

@Danesh - To update the metadata inside the PDF itself, use the Embed Metadata tool. You will probably need to add it to a toolbar or menu, or give it a keyboard shortcut.

Updating metadata in PDF's is not always possible because of internal protection.

The tool is built in. You may just need to add the Icon to you toolbar

Preference: Look and Feel: Toolbar (tab): select toolbar(s)
