Marie provided two cream pies for my Thanksgiving weekend - banana and coconut. And I just finished eating her turkey brunch. She makes good meals and deserts.

OK, how does pumpkin creme pie differ from regular pumpkin pie?

It's cream cheese and pumpkin mixed. They come frozen. No need for baking just thaw. The crust is different too. It's vanilla cookie crumb. Topped with whipped cream. It's very good.

Two things:

Recuperating from helping to run Philcon 2016.

It's a literary science fiction convention, and I'm the guy that deals with the hotel where it's held on behalf of the con. I've been doing it since 2008, and will be doing it again next year. It's fun, but I'm not scheduled to sleep during that weekend, and I think I am just now coming back into focus. (And my duties are such that I am usually running around peeing on fires and don't actually see any of the convention programming. Part of my job is making sure the hotel has provided what Programming needs to present their content.)

Waiting for dinner to be ready. With just two of us, the SO and I aren't about to prepare and eat a whole bird, so there will be turkey parts and trimmings. I already had sweet potatoes with maple syrup, and the rest will be following on.

My SO shops in Chinatown on Thursday, and lamented they had no duck hearts, which a a particular favorite here, but not always available. She was a bit surprised at how busy the Chinese market she goes to was. I said "Why? Their main customer base are ethnic Chinese living in Chinatown, and Thanksgiving isn't a Chinese holiday. This will be just another day for them." But one of the clerks told her that many Chinese do get at least some bit of turkey, and consume it on Thanksgiving to insure good luck the following year. That did not surprise me.

Prepared by taking 3 walks today ...

And put out 2 extra helpings of food for the squirrels & birds in the yard ...

We all can groan tomorrow ....

I was groaning earlier. I just woke up from my Thanksgiving nap. I ate way too much. No seconds needed. Hubby made the plates so they were heaping full of food.

We had turkey, stuffing, mash potatoes, gravy, green beans and Hawaiian rolls.

Sweet pea had turkey. We had to crate her while cooking for safety. I'm getting ready to bake the apple pie.
