For the first time in over a month I've got a whole day where I can do what I want. I don't need to go to suppliers to pick things up, I don't have to cook tonight, I don't have to help at my sister's place. The only thing I have to do today is a quick trip to the supermarket for a packet of Yakult (because it does seem to help with my eczema). I'm also planning on more research for a new notebook. I decided against getting a more expensive one, since I only use it when on vacation or when housesitting. So my new budget is €300 to €400 and I want a 14" for portability.

For some reason clocks never seem to have a long life with me. During the night my wall clock died, new batteries didn't do the trick, unfortunately. I do really like the clock, I bought it at Ikea and luckily they still have it, so I'll get another one (it's about the same price as a new mechanism).
However, throwing away the old clock seemed a bit of a waste. Then I noticed that it can easily be taken apart and there's almost an inch of space between the front glass and the back. I see an "altered clock" project for the future. I will need to think about what I want to do; do I want to keep the clock theme or will I use it as a round shadowbox and do something totally different. |

Hubby's putting up the tree!!! I'm jumping up and down like a five year old. (Sorry neighbor) Sweetpea eyes are wide as she watches from a safe distance. Christmas music playing on Echo.

That's too late in my opinion. We need more time to enjoy the season. We always put ours up before Thanksgiving. It's bittersweet. I cry thinking how much Maisy love this time. She loved Christmas tree lights, garland, beads, ornaments, running across wrapping paper.... I miss her so much. Sweetpea just observes but Maisy participated.

It was an incredible busy day in the store, 131 paying customers (and it's only mid-November!) plus what feels about the same amount of people just coming to ask a question or wanted things we do not sell or were sold out.
I'm going to make a pot of tea, chop some carrots, make some dip and relax in bed with a good movie. I'm tired, so I can't process anything too complicated. I'm thinking it's time to watch Gone With The Wind again, I'll probably spread it out over 2 or 3 evenings. |

I finished the first batch of 20 Christmas cards. This was the basic card. I still have a couple of designs I want to make, but those will be more time consuming, so I'll only make about five of each of them.
But first I need to make a card for my cousin who recently gave birth to a baby boy and a thank you card for the assistant of our GP practice who is retiring soon. And while I'm at it I will also make the birthday cards for next month. After I finish the Christmas cards I'm going to take a little break from card making and try to get on with my other projects. |

Discussed my parents' Christmas and birthday gift (their birthdays are in January and February) with my sister. We had decided earlier this year we would give them a weekend away, since they haven't done that in at least 6 years. After the Family Thing started almost three and a half years ago my parents told us they wouldn't take a break until it was resolved. It isn't, they couldn't have known it would take this long. So we decided to book a weekend away for them in February, so they can not not go.
With my sister buying her own apartment and having to do some work on it it became uncertain if she still wanted to give such a big gift, but I was willing to pay for it all myself, since my parents deserve a weekend away. But it looks like she's willing to repay me half. We've decided to book the deluxe apartment, with views over the water if one is still available that can be reached by elevator. We're also booking the deluxe extra's: extra large towel, candles, showergel and the deluxe check out service, where they don't have to worry about emptying the dishwasher, take the trash out or pile up the sheets and towels in the hallway. Hopefully, despite their decision over three years ago, they'll like their present. |

Rainy holiday here ... so put on my trusty rain jacket (aka anorak for you Brits) and took a long stroll listening to the rain drops bouncing off the hood ... I love to walk in the rain ...

The turkey is in the oven! Hubby got the potatoes peeled. Sitting here watching the Macy's Day parade. I didn't get enough sleep.

Pork chops, Stovetop stuffing, and asparagus for dinner. Banana cream pie for desert.
For brunch, Marie is cooking up a turkey dinner with a side of whole cranberry sauce. I don't care for the jellied variety. |
