You know, people say that to me all the time. And truth be told, I could probably show the average person a relatively idiot-proof way to make a great ePUB, and thence, a great mobi. But...wouldn't that be a bit self-defeating?

Back when I was running largish IT projects it was always harder to find good tech-writers than good programmers. I can recall an over-qualified software engineer complaining to the CIO when he discovered that the tech-writer who had been plaguing him with 'why does it work this way..." questions was being paid half as much again as he was. I'm please to say she gave him no sympathy whatsoever - he left soon after.

I would tend to agree with this but I would put an "often" in between "experts" and "aren't." Some experts explain superbly.
