Today I was waiting for e-reader delivery. Then I gave up and went to work. The moment I arrive at my office, I got notification for missing delivery. The message saying I can pick up on my local news agency outlet, and what the closing time is. The closing time information is outdated and they now close 30 minute earlier. When I arrived there, it was already closed. They closed around the time I arrived at my place from work.

We just do the all you can eat buffet at our local cheap pizza place.
Ok so it isn't particularly cheap if you have a ton of rug rats but for one senior, one adult it is cheap.

Nontheless, since the original rant was "who (a) eats only 1/5 of a pizza and (b) can divide a pizza into 5" .... I agree that the portions in most diet plans or calorie books seem to be devised by stick thin people who stay that way naturally because food doesn't interest them!

One of the keys of my stage piano has a defect. It makes a hugely loud clacking noise and has a few milimeters play from left to right.

Now it is the case that *every* device I've bought in the last year either had some problem out of the box, or developed a problem within in a short time span; except the KA1, which I only have for two weeks or so. Therefore I fully expect it to fail in some way before Febuari or so.

Did you know that if you don't eat on a regular basis, you will lose the ability to tell if you are hungry or not.
Also why does portion size vary from one place to another with the exact same product.?

I do not recommend a diet of cigarettes and black raspberry wine coolers with a meal thrown in every three days. And dancing 2-6 hours a night. The side effects and recovery time are brutal.

Oh and Deb I at one point was not stick thin but toothpick thin.
26 years ago, I weighed about 85 lbs if that. It took me 16 years to get to 120.
Almost 10 years ago I quit smoking. The last 30 lbs I needed didn't take long.

Oooooooooh. To get in on the pizza action and, apropos to the thread, I will vent that I haven't had a Pizza Man "Wow" pizza in way too long. This is a wonderful pizza joint in my hometown and it involved crab meat and artichoke hearts. Sadly, I am 40 miles away from it right now.

I'd drive 40 miles every once in a while for a great pizza!

We sometimes drive 45 miles to get to the closest A&W because we love it so much.

Had to make a trip to a spot in the northern NJ metro area. I didn't feel like driving, what with traffic and all, but fortunately the train station is a five minute ride from here and the office I was heading to was a short walk from the station on the NJ Transit Morris-Essex line.

Unfortunately, the Morris-Essex line terminates in Hoboken.

I drove.

Reports are still coming in, but given that the train accident in Hoboken was so bad and it occurred during rush hour, it could have been much, much worse.

I would drive 40 km for some good sushi! I usually make it myself, but I am very picky with takeout.

Jeeeze. Man, you can tell those of you who live in cities. I drive 45 miles just to see my damn doctor. Never mind anything remotely resembling a decent restaurant. Drive 10.5 miles to the FIRST commercial establishment of any kind-a convenience store. Leaving there, go another 15 to get to the damn grocery, or pharmacy, or any typical modern living establishment.

I frequently remember when we lived closer-in, to the metro area (where a grocery wasn't even a mile away), and while I would definitely wish for that, as errands can be extremely tedious (and gas-sucking!), I also know that I can hear a car, turning toward our house, from nearly 3 miles away. There's no traffic; no traffic noise. No streetlights. On a Sunday, you can open the windows and hear...dead silence. Not much noisier the rest of the days of the week.

So, yeah...driving can SUCK. (I would drive a LONG way for one decent damn pizza, I'll say that. Phoenix has a lot of things, but fabulous pizza ain't one of 'em. Or CHINESE, which should be on the Endangered Dining Experiences list.)
