Thanks for the help on this, now my battery shouldn't drain so fast, at least I hope. |

Even with the stuck synching process seemingly solved, the battery drains on the Aura One horribly fast while reading.. Started this morning with a full charge, and even just a few hours here and there of reading, (light at 25%) it's already down to 60%. The larger screen is kind of nice,,, it does resemble the page of a typical hard cover book much more than any other e-reader. The coloured lighting, however, I'm less impressed with. I already mourn the loss the seemingly magical ability of e-ink to keep on working without needing to be recharged all the time.
The capacitive touch is a complete fail. Not as bad as the original Aura, but it does degrade the quality of the screen, (comparing the similarly specced Glo HD). But you don't even get the benefit of improved touch... .the Glo HD is more respsonsive and much more accurate to touch, including pinch zoom gestures, than the Aura One. It's still a fine reader in lots of ways, and the negatives I'm pointing out are not critically adverse. I suspect the GloHD is probably being brought to a very early end of life due to either quality or cost of production issues. But I would have liked to see the H20 upgraded with the slightly better resolution. Overall, I think it remains the better premium reader. |

Is anyone else seeing colors on the screen. I see purple and a greenish yellow.

Very pleased so far with this model. Much brighter than the H2O, which is what I wanted. The natural light setting is perfect for my use. I tend to read with the brightness level greater than 50% all of the time (even in a dimly lit or dark room). Having the natural light on auto works great for my reading conditions. My screen light is always perfectly tuned to my needs. Definitely not a gimmick feature. The large screen is pure pleasure!

White Mark on Screen
There appears to be a white mark in/under the screen. Unfortunately it's just above the center, where it's always obvious (unless the screen is white). Is this something that Kobo will acknowledge as needing to replace the device, or am I just going to have to deal with it? With Amazon this isn't even an issue of course.

I found the natural light turned up to any degree made for a much less uniform screen. I have it just enough to soften it from a harsh white. On mine the base lighting is awesome but the natural light could rival the rainbow of colours on a Voyage.

Hi Kobo Aura One is my 2nd kobo reader and so it's the first time to sync reading data between readers. But I can't sync highlights, books have been synced perfectly though. Highlights and memos can't be synced or that's a big ?

Mine arrived this morning, and I am working on it (patches, dictionaries, fonts, etc...) right now.
So far I have not had time to read with it but am impressed by the quality. Many reviews made a parallel between the Aura One and a hardback and this is my feeling exactly. Now I am waiting for my books to load and will start my reading session. |

Mine arrived an hour ago, but haven't read anything yet.
First impressions: light, good quality, fast and responsive, clear reading. At least, comparing with my Aura model. |

First reading impressions so far :
1. Not as sharp as my H20. The difference is not great, but I can see it. If you own an H20 and love the display, you might be disappointed by the Aura One. 2. Lighting is even, as always I don't see color blurbs (but I never see them) on mine. 3. I like the natural light effect a lot. 4. The format is fantastic. Although it has a much bigger display than the H20, it is very easy to handle and sits well in my small hand. I have no problem turning the pages. |
