When laying on one side it is not very handy to use the orher hand for swiping to the next page. So you have to hold it, and swipe with the same hand (pointer finger or thumb) to go to the next page, but the place to do that is shifted on a bigger screen so I am afraid you can't reach the "swipe point" with that one hand.. Looking to the specs it has the same DPI is the Glo HD so it is only a bigger screen where a couple of lines more txt can be displayed. The difference between Glo HD and Aura HD gives me 4 lines of txt more.. so this one.. 6 lines ? And the price of the cover is almost 70 dollars ?? Come on now. Try to use the stand on something soft like a matrass...until now even the biggest stand I had falls.. I am not judging , I am an early adopter myself, but I do make some calculations in my head to defend myself for buying.. what is the advantage compared to what I already have and use. -Bigger screen but same DPI so the txt will not be more different then on the Glo HD, the same sharpness. -More lines... is that 230 euro's worth, coming from the Aura HD to the Glo HD I didn't miss the few lines that the Aura HD had on my Glo HD. -Smooth surface... well actually I like the bezel of the Glo and Glo HD, you can feel where it ends so no accidental page turns.. -Waterproof.. I don't need that function, if so I bought the H2O in stead of the Aura HD. I Don't have a bath and if so, you can use the Glo HD in a bag because it is infra red. -Cold in winter.. capacitive screens can not be used with gloves.. so this new one is useless then compared the the Glo HD. -Comfort light.. well that depends.. the "blue light filter" come on.. you can move to the old shine of the older normal Glo (bit yellow-ish which i didn't like) or the normal Glo HD light..thats no filter, that is sales talk.. Beside that is a much more expensive sleepcover..with a stand you (i guess comparing to other stands) can't use in bed. Swiping will be much more difficult with one hand.. Overall, I see no reasons why I should buy this one, it has to give me more comfort during reading.. the looks.. well.. I find it (own opinion) rather ugly. Because there are RGB LEDs, it is clear that the device can certainly avoid using blue light. That's not sales talk. The evidence about blue light causing eye problems is however somewhat less clear. Having said that, my iPhone 6 colour shifts away from blue at night and to me it does seem easier to look at. |

You also don't need to swipe, a simple tap will turn the page. And in 'reading settings' you can select which side of the reader you want to tap to page forward or backward. I haven't swiped in a long time now.

I never swipe on readers as well. On smartphones, swiping is easy and often makes sense. On readers, it’s completely unnecessary.

all valid points. adding page turn buttons would have been a nice feature, in my extremely humble opinion. best wishes koboy ![]() Last edited by koboy; 08-24-2016 at 02:43 PM. |
