Another confirmation that Windows 10 v1607 (OS build 14293.82) fixes it

I have installed the latest cumulative update which results in me now running 14393.82 and it has fixed the issue as reported by others above. Calibre can see my kobo just fine now on Windows 10 v1607 Anniversary Update. So no need to install the new preview versions 14901 or 14905 for a fix anymore.

I also installed the cumulative update KB3176934 and the Update KB3176936 and I am also able to connect Calibre to my Kobo Aura HD. I didn't try any of the various tweaks and hacks suggested here (though I was about to!), so this should be resolved now.

I removed the fatpatch hack since this is properly solved now by Windows Update.

Hi guys, can you try to open some pdf on PC, or use adobe reader anyhow? I read it crashes with latest preview updates. Thanks

But that's not Adobe Reader. Adobe Reader is what most people use for PDF.

Are you sure it's not something on your end since others are reporting the issue fixed and that includes an H2O?

No, I mean what happens when you plug the device into the Win10 machine? Is it the same as before this update? Or is something different happening?
