New 13.3 e-ink carta 1.2 display, mass production at Q4/2016
Looks like there is some progress. Very slow, though.
"As engineering samples are available now the new 13.3" e-paper displays with the resolution of 2200x1650. The following panel models with Carta 1.2 technology (high contrast and short response time) are represented: ES133TT2 with plastic substrate and ED133TT1 with glass substrate. The mass production of the panels is planned for Q4/2016." http://bec.com.hk/news/news-details/...7b729d7b2abb25 |

I just bought an eight inch Onyx last year.
It very much looks like I will be buying a thirteen and a half inch model next year. |

Between this and the new Kobo 7.8", it looks like I'm finally getting the eInk PDF reader I've always wanted!

A 7.8 inch Kobo? Did I miss an announcement somewhere; or do you mean 6.8 inch?
Edit: The Aura One... ? Rumors. If it's true, it looks like an interesting option. |

A large screen needs a plastic substrata, which is offered, but it also should have better than 207 ppi. It should be ok, for most things but it is a little disappointing. I would buy one, of course.

To date a whole lot of people are working with screens of that size and much lower resolution on their laptops: obviously the pixel density could be higher, but 207 ppi seems like a good effort for the size.
