Mine came from a car wreck at 17. That was long before seat belt laws for adults and 1 year and 2 months before car seat laws in Texas.
Scary part of that was even though I was by myself, I saw a toddler go through the passenger side windshield.
Needless to say, after that all children that were ever in a vehicle with me were buckled up.
I actually threatened to take the car keys from one mom if the child didn't buckle up.
16 years later, that child just handed me the car keys when her daughter threw a fit and didn't want to wear her seatbelt.

Good for you.

I had a car crash at 17 too - I was driving - and rolled the car down the road, being thrown out during one of the revolutions and waking to see the car about 50 yards down the road. Don't suppose that did my back much good either. Don't remember if I was wearing a seatbelt or not, but probably not, given I was thrown out.

Thank you all.

This morning, when packing my suitcase I caught myself thinking that Lexie would be really pissed off when I would bring the stuff I was taking downstairs.

New Hampshire still doesn't have a seatbelt law for adults.

...but under NH law, a 17 yr. old would be required to wear a seatbelt, so there's that.

If you decide to come visit me, remember to wear your seat belt in Texas. Unless you come down in a 1969 or older car that doesn't have factory installed seatbelts.

I must confess that I don't wear mine every time I leave home. Only when I'm going in my car....

So I just woke up to a hot apartment. It's 94 out and my A/C is set to 68 and it did not cycle on while I was sleeping! So it was 75 in here. I had to turn it down one degree to 67 for it to kick in. I really like to slap whoever invented Econ mode on air conditioners. They never work right.

Blossom,
I love you to death, but my house is 82 right now with the cooler on.
97 with 25% humidity.
Can you turn off Econ mode?

No you can't turn it off. I live in a 400sq feet two room apartment. Humidity is 45 in here. I'd have heatstroke at 82 and wouldn't be able to breath. I keep it at 70 year round. It can be 40 degrees outside and it will be 75 in here due to all my neighbors. My neighbor keeps her apartment hot I guess.

Wow.
Can I recommend a fan to supplement your a/c?
Be glad you don't have a swamp cooler. It would be utterly useless at 45% humidity.

We have a Fan blowing into the second room. Otherwise hubby would overheat. My desktop is also in there so it's important to keep it cool while he plays Klondike.

The average humidity in here is 55% sometimes it reaches 60% if it gets to 35% my sinuses start to become dry and I get migraines. So 45% is ideal. When I lived in Raleigh the humidity was horrible. 60-65% all year round in that apartment. I don't miss it.
