I'm so sorry. It's so hard to say goodbye. It took years for me to get another cat after I lost my childhood friend. A beautiful calico named mommee due to all the kitties she produced. You never really get over it you just learn to live without them.

I have been by one Aldi but the baskets were locked up. It looked like you had to put in money to get a basket.
There is no 10% fee here. I've never heard of such a thing. Aldi's you have to a quarter which you get back to use a basket. It works like a key. It's genius if you ask me. I don't shop there. I find their food over process and sub quality.

Not Save a lot. The Cash Saver (not cost) that replaced our Save a lot. It has the 10% fee.

Thanks on the Aldi's information. Next time we go to a town that has one, we shall shop there.

And we are not discussing our semi-local stores. They are regional.
Overpriced on most things. And you have to look very carefully at the meat and produce.

There use to be a Cash Saver here but they closed down. I guess now I know why.

The cheapest places here to shop for everyday is Walmart for packaged meat Save A Alot. The big thing around here is the 10 for $10 specials each store has trying to compete with each other. So you have to shop at all of them to get cheap prices on what you need. Shop N Save is bad at selling out of date food so you have to be careful with them.

When we go big grocery shopping, all three stores Walmart, HEB and Albertsons are all pretty much a straight shot from the house and back.
We go to Walmart first. They are all west of us.
Then turn north and drive about 2 blocks turn east into HEB parking lot. Leave HEB out the north drive, turn east and go about a mile to Albertsons. Then keep going east till we get back to our street then turn south and go home.

Some grocery stores in our area use the same method, and I believe some of the larger towns encourage it, as a way of keeping the carts on the property and out of the town streets and parks.

When my kids were much younger and I was going to the stores a lot more than today, I mentioned the inconvenience of fishing for a quarter while trying to keep track of two youngsters. The manager explained that the kids who collect the carts from the parking lot drop off points and bring them back to the storefront are issued slugs -- red quarter-sized disks with a tab on the side -- so they don't have to use real money. He gave me one.

Friday was stressful. Today was very stressful -- and I woke up with a bad back. Tomorrow (Monday) will be the worst, and I'm hoping my back will ease up a bit.

Over the years I've come to believe that stress is a major trigger for my back pain, but that doesn't make it much less painful.

Tuesday should be settling down, but I'm really pinning my hopes to Wednesday and Thursday!

I hope you feel better soon.

I understand about back issues. Since putting on 30 pounds from stress last year and I was nearly thrown from the back of a golf cart at full speed down a hill in 2014. My back has been locking up randomly where I can't bend or stand for long periods of time.

No pain just can't bend when standing or have that I'm gonna fall over feeling. I have to sit down a bit to reset it.
