I don't try to keep up either. There is one of me, I have two hands, and there are 24 hours in a day, some of which must be allocated to things like eating and sleeping. I read a piece a while back about a legendary hardware designer who had a notebook filled with what he called "dirty pictures". They were specifications and formulae he found useful in his work but didn't try to keep in his head. Easier to just Look Stuff Up when needed, and the notebook was a one stop solution for where to look.

That's about where I am, though there isn't a one stop solution to Looking Stuff Up.

And I have broad enough interests that keeping up on everything would mean keeping up on everything. Not possible, even if I wanted to.

But you're right indeed: the e-reader war basically has settled down to the Kindle for Amazon-formats, Kobo for EPUB. All the rest has become insignificant, apart from the occasional reader that has something interesting, such as Android or a weird/new design.

Gah! Today is truly a "Tuesday is Monday's ugly sister" sort of day. I have a sex offender living across the street, apparently. A "real" one, too. Apparently, he told another neighbor that, "you'll be getting something in the mail today but it's okay because my daughter lied and framed me because she was mad at me." Yeah. Whatever you say, dude. My poor little ,grandmotherly neighbor ladies (one across and one on the side of me) are horrified and beside themselves. So am I, to be fair. Also, Mr. My Daughter Framed Me has a habit of screaming and cursing on his cell phone on the sidewalk.

There goes the neighborhood. I hope I don't lose my job because of the higher-ed budget cuts because I sure can't sell or rent this house with that creep across the street.

Also. I am officially old and obese. I have gained all my WW-lost weight back and my health is suffering for it. This is despite doing quite a bit of biking to work. I joined back up with WW and I don't get anywhere near the Weekly Points I used to get and all the points on most foods have gone way up. For example. I can't/won't drink Skim. I do 2%. A cup of 2% used to be 3 WW pts. Now it is 5.

/Totally NOT going to my 25th High School reunion.
