Thanks for the kind words. One day I woke up and discovered that I'd been posting the same things, again and again for the past seven years. Then I realized that most people were... Plus, I was spending more and more time in front of the computer. I wanted to be outside more. I still read one or two of the sub-forums now and again, but that's about it. I'm not 'gone.' I've just gone dark.

Yeah, I understand. On most forums I am/was a member of, I've mostly stopped posting in the technical sections. For me, the time to be always on the very top of *everything* is far gone. At some point, there is only so much to say about CPU's, mainboards, camera's, lenses, e-readers, calibre, airguns, Hammond organs, Kawai piano's, etc....

At one time, I knew every past, present and future Intel, VIA, and AMD chipset en CPU, and every nVidia and ATI graphics card by heart, specifications, advantages and disadvantages... I literally mean *everything*.

As I get (a tiny bit) older, I don't see the need to keep that up anymore; I don't have the time. Thus, I'm mostly dormant in the technical sections of most forums, except if something occurs that *really* interests me; a new device, some sort of new software, interesting news items, and such. Then I resume researching and posting.

Maybe you should hang around in the Lounge and News sections; it's mostly what I do, until I feel I have something to contribute to one discussion or another.

Count me in the lurking but occasionally posting category. It seems like the e-reader wars have diminished and so the discussion of pros and cons has become far less interesting. The posts have become repetitive. I am going to make more of effort to post occasionally because I like the folks but I can't see myself posting all that frequently.

That's really the crux of the matter... this repetition. For years I was posting about drinking unbranded Keemun tea (I'm still drinking unbranded Keemun tea,) training for international fencing tournaments (I'm still training for them,) winning international fencing tournaments (I'm still training for for them...) taking motorcycle rides, going scuba diving.... While life is enjoyable, it really IS repetitious. I just got bored talking about it. I'd rather just do it! I do miss many of the posters and the aside conversations we had, but right now, I just need to be outside 'doing,' rather than inside 'talking' about it. I can be easily found if needed. Just flash the Bat Signal...

You could save time if you just took up underwater motorcycle fencing.

I myself have one thing to keep me coming regardless -- answering questions in the Kindle and calibre forums. Repetition there isn't a bad thing.

Good to see you, even if only briefly, and of course to know that you are still there, as opposed to having disappeared under mysterious circumstances.
