B&W resolution runs 400dpi or better. Amazon has a patent for a dual layer display with medium resolution color atop high resolution b&w which would work well in an ebook reader. |

The part where there was animation running fluidly within the book I though was quite exceptional, guess there's a lot more to these screens than just colour. |

Some of these rumors are making me nervous. I cannot be without some kind of buttons and I must have e-ink. That liquidvista thing, not sure if the words and letters would sit on the top of the display as they do with the Voyage.
I didn't like the first Paperwhite for that milk/window view and I can't read on tablet type devices. Its the way e-ink looks that is so great for me to read on. I worry that some other technology would not have that readability for me. I just always worry that I get left out in the dust. |

I really, really doubt that we're going to see a Liquavista device. The leaked information suggests that an eInk device with an additional battery in the cover is likely to be what's coming.

Battery on the covers, solar charging just sounds like we're running out of ideas.

I too doubt that we will be getting a Liquavista device. The most likely scenario to me is that Amazon is going to address accessibility issues. It's expansion into schools faces real difficulties if it does not address such issues. I'm no expert on accessibility, but I do think it likely we will see tts make its return. This alone would presumably be a huge step forward in meeting accessibility requirements. Other issues such as fonts, contrast etc. would presumably be addressed in software.
Having said this, the Amazon acquisition of Liquavista is now some years behind us, and I don't think a commercial product was all that far away even back then. Having read the story of the Echo and Jeff Bezos's insistence on very high standards for that product, I would not be surprised to learn that a commercial product release has been delayed by similar demands. If Amazon were to release such a display now or in the not too distant future it would IMHO give Amazon a huge advantage over its competitors in the dedicated ereader market. The longer it takes to get this technology on the market the mpre likely it is that a competing technology will come along. Whilst I don't think the most likely scenario is a Liquavista display for the new devices, I would also not be terribly surprised at its appearance. If not, then I don't think it can be that far off. In the meantime I am quite happy reading on my e-ink Voyage and my H2O. I'm saving my money for Liquavista. |

I am pretty happy with my pw2 at the moment. I will only go for a newer kindle only if my kindle is rendered unusable/stolen or amazon releases a color kindle.

By buying the company, Amazon can keep selling e-ink Kindles, and release the Liquavista version whenever they feel like it. |

Have fun voting for what features you think the new high-end Kindle will have!
