That was explained to me one time. What I was told was that the portion of the cow used for hamburger is relatively small. Those portions from many cows are put into a single plastic bag for transporting purposes. It is not the case that the portions are subsequently integrated. Yes, one pound may contain the meat of two cows, but not some meat from every cow in the package.

I know nothing about this personally, so you are welcome to disbelieve what I was told!

Pie Cookbook from Gordon Rock--100% Off of the Digital List Price (Yep, It's FREE!).

It's pronounced "pie" everywhere else in the U.S. besides the Deep South. Here in the Deep South it's pronounced "pye" (and the enunciation usually is stretched out for a second or two). Except by the transplants from up north, of course.

This book doesn't have as many ratings as I like in a book that I post. But books at Amazon written by Gordon Rock generally have super ratings. So, I'm going to post it. It doesn't hurt any, either, that's it free.

Oh, and despite what the title says, it's probably not the ultimate pie recipe book.

The Pie Cookbook - The Ultimate Pie Recipe Book: The Only Pie Cookbook You'll Ever Need. By Gordon Rock. Rated 4.5 stars, but from only 2 reviews at Amazon; rated 4.0, but from only 3 ratings at GoodReads. Print list price $12.99; digital list price $3.99; Kindle price now $0.00. ADS, publisher. 87 pages. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B01B1ZLW4K/.

Book Description
Everyone loves a good apple pie or pumpkin pie, but there are so many other flavors to choose from! In this pie recipe book you will find an extensive collection of delicious pie recipes including both classic and innovative flavors. This pie cookbook is stuffed with recipes for different kinds of pie crusts and pie fillings so you can mix and match to create your own special recipes.

In this book you will receive the following:
- An introduction to the best pie cookbook you will ever own

- A collection of 10 delicious recipes for different pie crusts

- A group of 20 pie recipes for both new and classic flavors

So, if you are ready to try some pie recipes for yourself, throw on an apron and start baking!

For Amazon, that's midnight and when prices often change (although authors now can pick free periods as short as 12, 4 or even 1 hour).

You Can Do It With Your Microwave!

You've probably never really thought about it before but cooking most if not all of your meals in the microwave can save you all kinds of time and taste just as good as when it takes a long time for conventional cooking.

1000W and about the same space as a stock pot of 12" diameter. It has paid for itself already just by making yogurt.

I love mine, too! It's one of the best kitchen appliances I've ever purchased. I use it at least four days a week—sometimes several times a day. It makes perfect brown rice, tender meats, quick and flavorful soups, steel-cut oats, effortless beans, bone broth, etc.—even cheesecake! You can pressure cook eggs and potatoes together for potato salad! Hard-boiled eggs turn out perfect and are SO easy to peel.

I have this one: Instant Pot IP-DUO60 7-in-1 Multi-Functional Pressure Cooker, 6Qt/1000W. It's the perfect size for the two of us (with leftovers!). There's also a new 8-quart model and a smaller 5 quart, as well as a line of 6-in-1 LUX models. The 7-in-1 model has a yogurt button, while the 6-in-1 doesn't, and they look a bit different in style. Both have delayed-cooking and keep-warm features. The removable stainless steel inner pot is easy to clean and very durable.

Here are three more IP/pressure cooker cookbooks that are FREE today:
I found excellent recipes in all three e-books as well as The Instant Pot Pressure Cooker Cookbook: 101 Incredible Recipes for Busy Families (still FREE) posted earlier, although occasionally there's one with issues, such as not enough liquid included for the pot to achieve pressure. Now that I've used the IP for a while, I've learned what to watch for in recipes, so I adjust accordingly when necessary.

1000 watts, as treadlightly said. I just measured my 6-quart model, and here are the dimensions:

13.5" wide (includes handles)
12" depth (front to back)
13" tall (with lid on); 11.5" tall if storing pot with lid upside down

It's best to have open counter space to operate the machine. If it's under a cabinet, released steam may damage the wood over time.

I don't think you'd regret purchasing! There are zillions of recipes online as well as excellent Youtube videos. There's also a very active Facebook community.

So basically I could get rid of my slow cookers and steamers.

Now do you happen to know of a very good food processor?
I have good blenders. But I hate the slicer/shredder on my food processor. It locks up while slicing potatoes or carrots because of the gap between the food chute and the shredder.

It's ok. Sometimes authors think they are getting too many free downloads and cut the sale short. Some hope people won't notice and just click buy anyway.

I'll have to keep that in mind. I think that that is the first time that I've heard that. And I'm usually up at 3 a.m., so it would not be that big of a deal to wait until after that magic hour to post a thing or two. (Strange. I was a "lark" all through childhood and well up into my adulthood, but about 5 years or so I became an "owl" and I've been one ever since. And I hate it.)

I wish that Amazon would inform us how long a markdown is to last and/or how long that there is left on a markdown. I'll make a point to bring that up to Jeffrey (Bezos) the next time that he and I do lunch together.

Many people who buy the Instant Pot say they subsequently got rid of their slow cooker, yogurt maker, etc. I've decided to keep my Crock-Pots for now, though, since I have enough kitchen storage and may want to use the slow cooker to cook/warm something while making something else in the IP. I'd originally planned to store the IP in a tall pantry cabinet, but I use it so often that it sits permanently on my kitchen counter.

I can't be much help there. My Krups (Type 700) food processor is still going strong after 35+ years, but I don't use it very often and have no idea what the latest models are.

You just made my food processor that I rarely use seem new. I bought it in 1997 new.
My blenders are Oster respectively 1968 and 1976.

Storage space I sort of have. Counter space is running a bit short.
