February 2016 Author Earnings Report is up - now with Print and Audio data!
I haven't seen this in Hugh Howey's blog yet* but found it when I went there looking at something else.

A couple big changes this time around:
  • They have updated their methodology for correlating rankings to sales.
  • They have added print and audio data/analysis.

* His state of the industry blog last week was interesting though.

And Howey, too, for funding that datacenter. Non. Trivial.
Color me impressed.

Equally impressive in a different vein is the massive drop on the BPH ebook sales.
Slightly troubling: the slight gains for mid and small tradpubs in november now look like seasonal variation. They're holding on to their share but not taking advantage of BPH losses. I had hoped for better from them.

Nice use of the quotation marks. I haven't read an article in a long time that overused them so much. I actually was getting aggressive reading them. Very bad style and even more important, form.

Indeed.
As if the AE guys had anything to negotiate with "the industry".

The reports are for authors to consider when planning their careers, not for agents, publishers, pundits, or whatever.

They can be educational for those of us with "skin in the game" but personal attacks on the messenger is not exactly a sign of strength or confidence.
