It looks like the problem logging in to the Bridges library is due to a plugin bug, rather than any change at the library. I will have a new plugin release which should fix this within a week.

Version 1.36.0 - 19 Nov 2015

Add Audible as a provider. Only the US site (www.audible.com) is supported, the library-id must be set to "store", and the "Other/app/player" audiobook format must be enabled for searching.

Show links for purchasable books in the book details panel.

Add a configuration option to disable the job completion popup dialog. (Disable job completion popup dialogs) If set then all changes will be applied automatically without any notification upon search completion.

Just another BIG thanks for adding Audible as a provider. It has been GREAT. I've also finally figured out the correct link for checking my local library. You'd think it be simple, but they take you to 3 different primary sites at least...I haven't been able to get it to work, but I just tried another and voila!

Your plug-in is really essential in my book. I have it working with custom icons and find it so much easier to gather and see this info for books I have and books I've recorded to read what do not have. Now I easily see places I can access.

I would like to suggest something..just my 2 cents worth...I would never have known about this plug-in if it hadn't been a a side mention by someone else as I was searching threads. Overdrive isn't all it covers anymore. I'd suggest a rename so those not "in the know" can know immediately what it does ..something like Library/Seller links or Where to Find. I know those don't roll off the tongue easily. I'm sure there may be another name. Again, this is just my 2 cents worth.

I considered a name change when I added support for providers beyond OverDrive, but decided that it was more trouble for current users than it's worth. Discoverability of the plugin by potential new users isn't a big concern for me.

Can you tell me more about how/why this delay comes up when searching for titles in some libraries?
Is it the website that does this? Why?

The message typically is "Delaying due to throttling" and then job sits there FOREVER.

Is there a way to perhaps set an option to autoend the job if it doesn't complete within a certain timeframe, or is that Calibre independent?

This is happening with Amazon searches. It may be happening with the local library too which sometimes has search issues, but I cannot give exact details as that varies.

REQ: keystroke ability to search without going through 3 clicks or a click/Enter/Enter to do a search. Perhaps keystroke assignment per option or at least a single job search keystroke?

Amazon does not want anyone searching their site automatically in bulk. The plugin paces requests to Amazon, but if you search for too many books in a short period Amazon will block further requests from your IP address for a long time. (Amazon presents a captcha, which the plugin has no way to solve.) Try searching for fewer books at a time.

You can assign a keystroke to initiate a search using: Preferences, Advanced, Keyboard, Overdrive. From there you can assign keystrokes to "Search for selected books" and/or "Search for books by selected authors".

You can eliminate further keystrokes. From within the "Customize plugin" dialog of the plugin select "Disable confirmation dialogs" and/or "Disable job completion popup dialogs."

How difficult would it be to have more than one search profile, then? So I could have one that is libraries only, and one that I use less often that's just Amazon. Currently, I can go into the config and check/uncheck things, but I'm likely to forget to put it back to my default, so I tend not to search from Amazon anymore.

That feature is already available in the plugin as of version 1.35.0.

Groups of libraries can be configured for searching by setting the plugin tweak overdrive_link_library_groups. See the help section on Configuring Tweaks for more information.

Configuring Tweaks

The plugin has a number of configuration settings for advanced users that are managed by setting "tweaks" for the plugin. From the main Calibre screen select: Preferences -> Tweaks -> Plugin tweaks. This will open a dialog where tweaks may be set by adding Python variable assignments. The supported tweaks are:

overdrive_link_library_groups = dict mapping group names to lists of library names
This establishes named groups of libraries that can be used to perform searches. It can be used to avoid having to reconfigure the plugin to enable and disable libraries for searching when only a subset of libraries is desired. Once this tweak is set a new plugin menu item, Search for books at library group, will appear that lists the groups established by this tweak. Selecting a group will start a search using only the libraries contained in the group. For example, using: {'Favorite Libraries': ['lib1', 'lib2', 'lib3'], 'lib4 with discovery': ['lib4', '+discovery']} will establish two groups of libraries that can be used for searches. Library names are case sensitive and must match those in the configuration exactly. If a group contains a library named +discovery then the search will be done for books by selected authors, otherwise the search will be done for only the selected books.

Ran across a strong example of something I had previously suspected: library searches are particularly sensitive to character sets. (Mind you, I'm not sure there's an obvious fix, or even one needed, but it's a "be aware".)

I added a book I was looking for by ISBN (9781607747314), then downloaded metadata. (Amazon, Goodreads, Google, are my metadata sources.)

For the author, I got back "Marie Kondō"

Note the final character is not "o" but "ō"

Plugin search for books by this author did not return any results -- until I updated the ō to be an o, which is how Overdrive and 3M have the author.

I seem to be having a problem with the new (but not improved by any means) Overdrive that our library switched to.
I have tried 3 different LibraryIDs but keep getting the same error.

OverDrive has been slowly rolling out their new website design and I have been working on adding support for it in the plugin. I haven't been able to test it completely since none of the libraries I use have been updated yet. I will release what I have so far tomorrow.

Unfortunately, it seems to be one step forward in appearance and two steps back in functionality. The new website is still missing advanced search and making recommendations. Also, the identifiers for books have changed making links to books created previously by the plugin incompatible once a library updates to the new design.
