As far as I know the answer is no.

It depends. Not likely to happen if the only connection is a shared address. The federal law is that you can request a correction and place a statement on your report if the preparer disagrees.

If the scrap gold is refined before casting jewelry it is fine. You are then going to alloy the gold with other metals to get the karat and properties you want in the casting. If it is just melted down and cast the quality can be problematic. For example, using chain to cast will cause problems since chain links are soldered together. The solder makes for a poor casting.

I have never heard of someone's credit score being lowered because of a shared address either so I would say the answer is no also.

I don't think it's likely to happen either. It's good to know you can request a correction though.

Amazon doesn't check your credit though. Unless you apply for a Amazon shopping card.

As has been said, though, Amazon are entirely free to apply whatever criteria they wish when closing accounts. They can do so for any reason, or no reason at all. Nobody has a "right" to be able to shop at Amazon.

True, although you might want to be careful when you do it in person. We had a man come into our store drunk and started using abusive language to a 19 year old store employee. He had her in tears. My wife come over and told him to leave before we called security. He did leave although he was not pleasant. I was at lunch when this happened. Two weeks later he was sitting on his front porch, drunk and holding a handgun. The neighbors called the police. One of the officers new him and walked up to talk to him and see if he would put the gun away. When the officer stepped onto the porch the man shot the officer in the face. My wife was shaken up when she heard the news. He could easily have been carrying a gun when he was in our store.

iPlayer does not work outside the U.K. If you're really determined you can use a dns service to get around the geo blocking. I'm not sure of the legality of it.

That may well be the down side they need to live with. Yes a few people game the system, but everybody else has transparency. Right now, rather than having clear guidelines, they are relying on self censorship, so to speak.

I suspect their algorithm is pretty complicated and even their reps do not know exactly what trigger warning, flagging, and account closing. Hence the vague and unhelpful communication.

They are right in my opinion. People who return the books constantly are just throwing them into Calibre to remove DRM and immediately publishing them on IRC. Book piracy should not be condoned.

The accounts that are being closed are rarely because people are returning ebooks.

You're right, book piracy should not be condoned.

But this has absolutely nothing to do with book piracy, so that's all right then, isn't it?

...

It only takes one person to upload a stolen ebook, and it is forever available to anyone who wants to illegally download it.
And they'll use a throwaway account for it anyway.

And (unless you spend inordinate amounts of time stripping them out, which most people probably don't think of) the books that they upload will still contain the Amazon metadata/watermarks identifying the account that purchased them. Which is really a much better way of identifying pirates than assuming everyone who returns a lot of books is a professional ebook thief.

Now I may be a complete idiot but to me a pirate wouldn't necessarily return the book. Especially if they are benefitting in some way from having said book. Mostly because it would draw unwanted attention after a time.
I hope that makes sense.
I mean a cigarette thief, isn't going to steal the cigarettes from a store and then return them for a refund. No they are going to sell them to others for a profit to themselves while undercutting the stores.
