One thing that would be cool to have on the voyage 2: temperature adjustable light. In the evening, I use an app to adjust my tablet to yellow/amber hue and I find it really soothing. It's jarring to go from that to the kindle.

They could use r g b leds, which can produce a large range of colors, or more simply, two sets of leds, cool and warm. It'll add to the expense, but heh, that's what the premium pricing is for.

If a Voyage 2 release really is only a week or two away, why haven't any of the OTHER tech sources received inside information? Something about it sounds fishy to me.

That being said, I hope I'm proven wrong, because I love my Voyage, and I'd be even more thrilled to have an upgraded model..

I don't think there will be one this year. It's too late. They would've announced it already.

Hmm true. They're letting the Christmas Shopping season pass by not announcing the new one last October.

That's the same site that told us the Kindle would adopt Epub, that the Fire tablets would get free 3G, that Sony and Kobo would cooperate to release a device last year, and that this year Kobo would release a new 6.8" model.

They frankly don't have a very good track record.

Gee, I wish someone had mentioned that two months ago. I spent a month and a half hoping it was true. I had no idea who Goodreader was, or their track record.

But what about that fake email from a supposed Amazon rep? I can understand making lame predictions that don't pan out, but now they're actually falsifying info by displaying FAKE Amazon emails?

It is just a screen image, they made no claims about it being an facsimile of an email from Amazon customer support (which in fact, it does not even faintly resemble, in my experience). Blog articles need some image, any image, to draw attention.

I think Vmurph could be referring to the screensnaps other people have posted which show an Amazon rep promising a new Kindle was coming.

For example, the reps said we'd get a new Kindle in September (obviously that didn't happen).

In all honesty, that is what I am hoping for. Wouldn't it be nifty if Jeff Bezos got up on stage and said:

Eight years ago, Amazon kindled the ebook era. Today, we set it aflame. ... Introducing the Kindle Flame, our best Kindle yet, with a color Liquavista screen.

But I also don't really expect it to happen.
