Source?
Can you prove this?
Or are you just doing FUD?
As I recall, the other one in this thread received a letter last year and a letter this year.
So obviously AMAZON does give multiple chances.

And as long as you give Amazon money please quit crapping where you eat.

I am still buying from Amazon, but its low value items and mainly cheap ebooks, I am keeping a spreadsheet now and of the 29 paid orders since our letter (not including free ebooks) we have spent £90. Of that it was 8 physical orders only, the most expensive was the £18.50 case we made a mistake on which arrived today. And no we won't be returning it.

I've ever returned any ebooks or Audible audiobooks.

And talking on limits, Audible may offer an unlimited returns policy if you don't like the book (which I don't actually agree with btw) but its only two online you can return yourself, after that you have to go through Customer Services. So they are capable of setting limits and letting the customers know what those limits aere.

Today we received a replacement ipad air case for hubby, a good make, logitech, we were very careful when selecting it, however we forgot to find out the weight. Yes our mistake, but now we have a £18.50 case which will simply go in the loft until we sell the Air and include it with it, we dare not return it as in our case one last return could be the return that gets our account closed.

So regardless of the law we can't return an online order we made a mistake with. Even though the law says we can.
"[V]ery careful when selecting it" was not sufficiently careful, apparently, especially given the circumstances. But I agree that having ordered it, it's probably best to eat the purchase. However, that doesn't mean you can't return it, it means you choose not to.

Oh and Josieb1, £90 is not a small amount of money to most people.

Yes I know Harry, I can understand same credit card , but not same address. This doesn't seem fair to me. Why should family members all be treated the same. We are individuals aren't we? I think many people who are not on MR would be surprised to hear about this. I just don't think it's gotten enough attention here in the US. anyway.

Anecdotal evidence, of course, but photography is a long-standing hobby of mine, and over the years I've bought quite a number of pretty expensive (as in well over £1000) photographic items from Amazon. I've returned two such items to them, a camera which was faulty, and a lens which I was dissatisfied with the image quality of, and had no issues as a result. That would suggest that Amazon do take one's buying record (as in the fact that I've bought far more than I've returned) into account when judging whether or not returns are problematic.

Hey HarryT,
Since you are in the UK can you answer me a question.
Is there a law that says people have to buy stuff at Amazon?
@eschwartz, on the cumulative that is like saying one cigarette is only a quarter. Those quarters add up fast. So yes, she may be only buying low cost items but it still adds up. And puts money in Amazon's pocket.
