Question Black Strips on the corner after conversion from PDF to EPUB (resize problem ?)

Hello,

I tried to convert a pdf to EPUB format. The text of this pdf was not sizable at all, when you tried to select something, it took the whole page, as for an image.

After the conversion, black (brown) strips are present on the right and at the bottom of EACH page, as for a resize problem, or when you scanner is too big for your sheet.

Because I read that odt to pdf was more stable, I tried to open first my pdf in LibreOffice. Strange : the same problem appeared in LibreOffice : the pdf does appear but with those strips at the right and at the bottom of the original images (I call them images because once again the text is not sizable).

I thought about cropping all the pages and resize them, which would work, but in LibreOffice and in CalibreEdit, the crop-tool seems to treat one page at once, so it would be too long to do it on EACH page separately.

I'm a complet beginner so I apologize by advance if I missed something in the convert process or if the response is already posted somewhere (I did not find it after searching) & would appreciate a lot any help or advice

I have OS X Yosemite 10.10.5 and Calibre 2.33.0.

Oh I fortog to say that I used the default option to convert the file. I tried several output format (Ipad 1, Ipad 3, Tablet) but any of them could solve the problem.

Just wondering if you bothered to read the stickie in this forum, Read this before Posting PDF Questions.

The long and the short of is that PDF's are TERRIBLE as the source for ANY conversion; your PDF would appear not to have a text layer in it; the conversion has made an ePub that just contains an image of each page, as opposed to text.
