Anthology of Stories from Highly Successful People about Being Bullied as Children.
This ebook is marked down 100%--it's $0.00. Unlike (all?) other posts that I've made, however, I didn't take into consideration the amount of markdown when deciding to post this one. I'm posting it because I think that it could be tremendously helpful to children who are being bullied at school and other places. The importance of this was driven home to me when a boy at the middle school right down the road from where I live took his own life recently. Investigation revealed that he had been regularly bullied at school; the implication of news reports was that he took his own life because of it.
Information on the book's webpage suggests that this book is appropriate for ages 10-18. Although the book is intended for children, I felt that it was more appropriate to post it on the Non-Fiction thread than the Children's/YA thread, because of the active role that parents will want to play in having their children read it and, possibly, following up with them after they have read it. The Bullied Anthologies: Stories of Success. By Bhavya Kaushik & 3 more. Rated 5 stars, but from only 17 reviews at the present moment, at Amazon; rated 4.83, from 6 reviews, at GoodReads. Print list price $12.00; digital list price $2.99; Kindle price now $0.00. Reading Harbor, publisher. 190 pages. http://www.amazon.com/Bullied-Anthol...ies+of+Success. Book Description "The Bullied Anthology: Stories of Success" is the cumulative work of those who have survived bullying to become wildly successful. Best-selling authors, celebrities, entrepreneurs, teachers, philosophers, lawyers, social workers, and martial arts gurus come together to share their experiences of having been bullied, coming to terms with themselves, and of their eventual triumph over seemingly insurmountable obstacles. It is often said "that which does not break you, makes you." Such is true and reflected in each of the stories of shared here. The anthology recounts personal stories of those who have experienced first-hand the hardship of being bullied by peers or even parental figures. As well as, it relates the steps each individual took to change his or her own destiny from a victim to a victor. Bullying is a horrible obstacle to have to face. However, many people do face it on a regular basis through no fault of their own. This book shares experiences of those who were attacked, targeted, and picked on. These individuals were able to heal themselves, pick up the pieces, and be able to not just survive but thrive. Last edited by GtrsRGr8; 08-24-2015 at 12:22 AM. |

“Tonight We Die As Men: The Untold Story of Third Batallion 506 Parachute Infantry Regiment from Toccoa to D-D” by Ian Gardner and Roger Day http://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B0058Z9CYW Product Description: The exploits of the 3rd Battalion, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment have long been overshadowed by those of Easy Company, 2nd Battalion. Yet the actions of the 3rd Battalion during the D-Day landings were every bit as incredible. This is the astounding story of how, after suffering many immediate casualties on landing, the surviving paratroopers fought on towards their objective against horrendous odds. Using fascinating first-hand accounts of the soldiers and the French civilians who witnessed the Normandy campaign, and illustrated with black and white photographs and maps throughout, the authors offer a unique and comprehensive account of the experiences of the 3rd Battalion from training through to D-Day and beyond. |

I doubt that. I'm sure that Zig got his name just like most of us do. He got his surname (Ziglar) from his father and Mrs. Ziglar (Zig's mother) probably gave him his given (first) name, Zig. ha

Correction. And Five FREE "Life-Changing Tools" from Zig Ziglar.
Quote:
So, I checked Wikipedia (I found Zig Ziglar's "official" website to be no help at all with this; it serves as the website for the Zig Ziglar Corporation) and, sure enough, for what it's worth, "Ziglar" is the surname that he came with, his parents being "Ziglars." I couldn't find anything there or anywhere else about the first name "Zig," and I still have to believe that that name was not a given one. It definitely sounds like a nickname, and in the business that he was in (sales) a catchy name like "Zig Ziglar" could be worth $$millions$$. So, I stand corrected. Partially. BTW--I was sad to notice that Zig Ziglar passed away in 2012, after having had turned 86 years old about three weeks before. I had been a fan of his since 1979. Now, I have strayed from the subject that this thread is for--ebooks--and to make amends, I want to share with you five freebies that the ZigZiglar.com website offers as "Five Life-Changing Tools". I can't tell exactly what they are! However, it looks like there may be a couple of audiobooks among the bunch, and two or three ebooks and/or ebooklets. Of course, it asks for the usual information--name and email address--and also asks three easy-to-answer, non-intrusive questions. I'm going to rummage around the website some more to see if there are any more freebies that I can tell Mobilereaders about. And, of course, I'll keep an eye out for any of Zig's books that are marked down! Last edited by GtrsRGr8; 08-27-2015 at 06:32 PM. |

You can ask Amazon to match a price by going to the book's webpage at Amazon. Scroll down. At the very end of the Product Description, there is a sentence which says, "Would you like to give feedback on images or tell us about a lower price?" "Tell us about a lower price" is a hotlink (it's in blue). Follow it. Give the little bit of information that it requests. Wait a while. Check the site again to see if the price has been lowered.
