Books that won't load on my computer

I bought the following book from Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Rivers-London-...dp/B011QY58IC/

This is a graphic story belonging to book series I already purchased.

I can load it to my Kindle app on my iPhone and iPad, and I can load it to my wife's color Kindle - but I cannot download it to my Mac's Kindle app.

Looking at iTunes, I don't see it on my Kindle app, and looking inside my wife's Kindle, I don't see anything I recognize as it.

I'd like to load it on Calibre, even if I can't read it on my computer.

Any suggestions.

You're pretty much out of luck, I think. The only option I get for it is Cloud Reader, so it won't work on Kindle for PC or Kindle DXG either (probably all E-Ink Kindles). Some stuff is like that; my Analog Science Fiction and Science Fact magazine gets no love from K4PC either (the only reason I still have my DXG attached to my account)

There is a fair amount of stuff on Amazon that is restricted to certain machines.
I always look before I buy.

By the file size, it looks to be in Amazon's pdf-equivalent fixed ebook format. And all graphics inside that.
Try running it through Alf's TOOLS to see if a pdf viewer can handle it or if calibre can make a pdf out of it.

It's available for my old K3. I wonder why they would make it ok for an old eink, but not K4PC.

Kindle for Windows 8 as well as Kindle Cloud Reader

I was wondering that too. When I clicked on the American link it gives no information about any restrictions on the ebook. It must only show to Americans as they don't sell ebooks to us.
Could someone screengrab it? I'm curious.

May be a glitch on Amazon servers. I don't see 'devices supported' for that title.

I went to Manage Your Content and Devices page and checked a couple of my comic books. It did not initially show a 'deliver to' option for my iPad Air (and does not show one for my Mac). I launched the app on my iPad, and following sync, the option showed up on MYCAD. I'm pretty sure I have downloaded them previously with Kindle for Mac. So perhaps it is necessary to re-launch and sync k4mac before it will show up again as a choice.

It's KF8 only, apparently. It works on a K3 but not a K2. (My old K2 is grayed out.) That doesn't explain why it's unavailable for K4PC. I can only suppose that it was by choice. Since the computer apps wouldn't have a problem with KF8, it's the only plausible explanation (that I can imagine).

So the computer apps have been updated for KF8? I don't pay a lot of attention to updates to K4PC as long as it remains Alf compatible.

Kindle for PC was updated. I assume the others were also updated but my assumptions aren't always correct.

I wonder if books that don't allow K4PC don't allow it because of Alf's tools. I know this example can be downloaded to an eink Kindle which can be Alf'd as well, but you do have to buy the Kindle.

It grayed out my K4PC. It must be something in the formatting of the book.

The publisher can, if they wish, restrict the delivery of the book to specific devices or apps. For example, a book which cannot sensibly be used on a greyscale screen might be blocked from delivery to eInk Kindles.
