The Mini may be a Mark 4 device but it is not always included with the other Mark 4 devices, as far as firmware updates go. Looking at the first post, I don't see a version of the 3.15 firmware that has been released for the Mini.

I know, officially it is not released for the mini and that is in the startpost, but there are reports of people successfully load it on their device.
Make a blind pick between the other Mark firmware and brick your reader for sure was the alternative.
Manually updating is always at your own risk.

I downloaded the Mark 4 3.15 FW and installed it on my Mini, and it is working fine. I don't see much difference in either features or performance, but if you have been running 3.11 on a Mini, I think you can safely install 3.15, Mark 4.

Like Patrick, I do not see significant differences from 3.11, which I replaced, but I like keeping up with the latest version when there is no downside to doing so.

I have just upgraded my Kobo Aura HD from 3.13.1 to 3.15. Sorry to say it but, despite the sensible increase in responsiveness speed, the screen is now really ugly. Home is full of ghosts, low quality images. My great Kobo now looks like a cheap ereader. WiFi icon is blurred as are others. I have many ghosts in titles and pages. It is really ugly and I shall rollback to 3.13.1 firmware.

You can enhance your reader.

Further, put this line in your kobo configuration file: (In the .kobo\kobo directory you will find a file named Kobo eReader.conf)

[FeatureSettings]
LeanAndMean=false

That makes the ghosting a lot less, and if u double tap on the screen,it will refresh now.

You will be able to update to the new firmware either through an automatic or manual update. One note is that the items added under the FeatureSettings will survive an update but other patches such as GeoffR's that modify the firmware will not survive an update.

Thank you Nick, JSWOLF and DNSB. The patch is working fine and the "LeanAndMean" line helped a lot with the ghost images, without altering the ereader performance. I am glad to have found this blog. I'll be around... Cheers.
