I asked online here, how to turn it off (or some such) when I needed to get its attention more forcefully. Duhhhhh. And I've even got a cover with a hole in the back so that I can *see* the stupid power switch!

If you use calibre already, then this should barely impact your workflow. It would be a real shame to end up choosing a device you don't like, just over the DRM compatibility.

I moved from a K4 to Voyage and it's amazing. 300 dpi super high res. All my books. It's got a light, etc. Maybe if someone had a Paperwhite II it wouldn't be such a big leap as I experienced going from a K4 (at 167 dpi) to Voyage at 300 dpi. |

Still a very significant resolution upgrade from the PW2 to the Voyage. You can see the pixels on the PW2; you can't (or at least I can't) on the Voyage.

I like my Voyage but I'm using my Voyage and Paperwhite I and find them both quite pleasant to use. Me? I can't see pixels on my Paperwhite I when I read. But, I'm old.

Believe it or not I bought the Voyage because the raised bezel aka dirt trap on the PW was driving me up a wall. I'm a compulsive wiper/air duster with my gadgets. Totally worth it.

Thanks all! Quick question--it seems like I can use my old Paperwhite adapter w/ the Voyage, but I'm wondering if anyone on here has done that successfully. I'm very hesitant to drop $20 on a new adapter.

They are all standard MicroUSB chargers, any Kindle one will work -- as will the dozens you no doubt have from various cellphones and other devices.

I still have a PW2 and am very happy with it. I hope to get a Voyage this year. Is there any rumours of Amazon coming out with a Voyage 2 or dropping the US$199 price?

No, there aren't, but look at the dates of the release of Kindle models and decide for yourself when it's likely that a new model will appear.

I haven't been following the the release and discount sales cycle for the Kindle eReaders. Do they have sales for major holidays, that sort of thing? I'm trying to decide if it's worth a wait to see if Father's Day sales bring any discounts.

In the U.S., I've seen Amazon discount both the basic Kindle and the Paperwhite by $20 somewhat regularly. I don't believe they've ever put a discount on the Voyage, but that doesn't mean they won't in the future.
