[v2.25] UTF8 Error (Metadata) - is it just me?

Hi,

since version 2.25 I got a problem: When I open the metadata dialog or want to add a new book, there's always an error.

When trying to add a book:

calibre, version 2.25.0
FEHLER: Fehler während des Hinzufügens: Es konnten keine Bücher hinzugefügt werden, klicken Sie auf "Details anzeigen" für weitere Informationen

Everything worked fine 5 minutes before (with version 2.24).

And as it seems, both errors are in the same file at the same position:

Is there anything I can do about it, or is this a general problem in the latest version?

Is this error occurring when you try to edit metadata for any book, or just for the book where you got the original error.

Sadly for every book I try to edit the metadata for and for every book I try to add. Downloaded a few free books to test it, non of these books worked. Opening the exact same books on my reader (Kobo Glo) or on my PC with Sigil is working fine. I can even open / edit the metadata with Sigil without problems.
Can reinstalling Calibre help me? I don't want to use anything else, Calibre is the best ^^

Ok, it was just me ^^ My wife also updated to v2.25 and had no problems at all. So I reinstalled my version (uninstall with an uninstaller which also cleans the registry and any leftovers in the filesystem, reboot, install) and everything works now. Don't know what happened, but maybe just some settings got messed up during the update or something like that.

Settings do not normally get touched during updates... and even if you do a standard uninstall, the (per logon user) config folder stays.

That's why I used an uninstaller tool which removes everything that's left over All my settings where at the standard settings after my reinstall.

And as I already said: I don't know what happened exactly, but it works now, and that's all I need
