M96 Questions
I just bought an M96 and have a few issues which I can't solve.
1) In library view, when I choose sort by name and ascend it doesn't work. It sorts by name fine but only descending (z to a). I can't make it list my files in ascending order. How can I get it to sort ascending? 2) I added folders into the "Books" sub-directory, hoping to add books to each folder and then view the folders in library view, making navigation easier. Doesn't work. The library view does not show folders. To navigate to my created sub-folders, I have to go to /Storage/sdcard/Books which defeats the whole purpose of easy navigation. Is there any way to set this up so I can have these sub-folders appear in the library? Do I need to get a file organizing app? Or an e-reader/pdf reading app which organizes files better than the app installed? If that is the suggested solution, which apps are recommended? Thanks in advance for any help. Spydah |

1 - Click "ascending" first, then click sort by name. At least, that's how it works on my M96 Universe.
2 - Use the library in your OnyxReader app. It's a different library than the one found on your homescreen. Much more versatile - you can hit the menu to go to library, then to "open file" and it'll show all your books in the folders that you set up. For the library on your homescreen, it's pretty limited. Just an A-Z listing of all your books. |

Thanks for the help.
Regarding number 1, what you suggested worked fine. I also installed an app called file manager which works just fine to do what I want. I don't understand what you mean for part two. The only reader app I can find is called "OReader" and there is no option for "open file". In fact, I am not sure what you mean by hitting the menu button, going to the library and hitting open file. Neither the Onyx Library nor the OReader app has anything called "open file". The only menu button for library is the Onyx one on the home screen and it just lists all the files alphabetically. In the dark here. I could start a new thread but I'll just ask it here anyway as the post is M96 questions and I forgot to ask before. The manual mentioned adding fonts in the adobe/fonts folder. Can't find that folder though - doesn't exist. If I create the folder and add fonts, will that work? I find the documentation and support for the M96 to be poor at best. If ONYX was willing to hire me, I'd be happy to write some better material. Thanks for the help. |

Also, one more question. Where is the serial number for my device - anyone know? I emailed the company but they never answered. It's not on the back of the device and I can't find it in any of the settings menu's. Help would be appreciated.

So - open OReader. Then press the "Back" hardware button (the one with the curved arrow). A list of "Actions" will appear. One of those options should be "Open Book" then you can select "Open File." That'll get you to all of your titles in folder form. Or - if you're just looking to search by Author, you can click "Library." That'll be an author list of your books. For adding fonts and serial number, I have no idea. I'll leave that to someone else to answer. |

Ok, that works. But it's slower than using the file manager I installed. Also the way the files are displayed aren't as good as in the file manager. Plus, OReader doesn't read pdf files. There is some other pdf reader installed that is reading my pdf files but it's not listed in apps. Have no idea what the program is. For now, unless someone else can clue me in, I will use the file manager. Thanks for your help.
