Now with flip1314 suggested settings, the opening KSM screen is perfect, no grey bar inside the bezel. However when I enter "scripts" menu for instance, the bottom inside the bezel is greyed.
EDIT: South orientation is as good as North's; East is too low (grey area inside the bezel on the top + bezel not visible on the bottom); West is too high (grey area inside the bezel on the bottom + bezel not visible on the bottom as well). All comments are in regards to the opening screen. Last edited by gong; 02-20-2015 at 04:54 PM. Reason: EDIT2: West replaces East and vice versa |

The image and the log file are meant to provide NiLuJe with some data so that he can analyse the situation. I am not sure whether he meant to make a screen shot with fbgrab of nickel. In that case, however, it would be much easier to do it via telnet.

@gong: The screenshot is taken at the lowest level possible, so it snaps the whole screen, not just KSM's viewport. Since we're not inside nickel, we'd be unlikely to see any visible blackout like on an H2O, but it might still be helpful to take a look at. (Granted, as @tshering just pointed out, one taken from nickel would potentially be way more helpful in this instance, I kind of forgot abut that little detail ^^).

I got the bezel centered in E and W orientations but couldn't get rid of the grey bar.

@gong: Amended my previous comments, because of course we do see the effect of KSM's viewport shift on such a screenshot. Which explains why yours perfectly matches tshering's ^^. And doesn't really help us
![]() TL;DR: My bad, I should really have mentioned from the start that I was thinking of something taken from nickel ;/. Brainfart >_<'. FWIW, KOReader currently uses something like Code:
ksmGeometryValuesN=758x1012+0+0 ksmGeometryValuesS=758x1012+0+12 ksmGeometryValuesE=1012x758+0+0 ksmGeometryValuesW=1012x758+12+0 But since I'm not quite sure 12px is actually the proper amount of hidden pixels, take that with a grain of salt. One potential other value would be 10 instead, so: Code:
ksmGeometryValuesN=758x1014+0+0 ksmGeometryValuesS=758x1014+0+10 ksmGeometryValuesE=1014x758+0+0 ksmGeometryValuesW=1014x758+10+0 Last edited by NiLuJe; 02-20-2015 at 05:58 PM. Reason: Potentially fixed my geometry examples. Or broke them further. :D. |

Could you please test also NiLuJe's values? I know that you have already checked these values earlier. But now you have already chosen another font size and you are not distracted by the cut off of the entries and the grey bar on the right side. Last edited by tshering; 02-20-2015 at 06:21 PM. |

Hmm.
What about Code:
ksmGeometryValuesN=758x1012+0+0 ksmGeometryValuesS=758x1012+0+12 ksmGeometryValuesE=1012x758+12+0 ksmGeometryValuesW=1012x758+0+0 Code:
ksmGeometryValuesN=758x1014+0+0 ksmGeometryValuesS=758x1014+0+10 ksmGeometryValuesE=1014x758+10+0 ksmGeometryValuesW=1014x758+0+0 |

@tshering: While I get the N/S (portrait), I'm a bit puzzled by the E/W (landscape). But then again, I've been running on 4H sleep each day this week, and math/geometry isn't my forte ^^.
AFAIU, the Aura's bezel covers the *bottom* pixels when it's in portrait (and not upside down), unlike the H2O, where the dead zone is on top. |

Yup, that's a neat idea, thanks ;p.
---- OT: nuit is a feminine noun, so the adjective bon should inherit that gender ![]() ![]() On the other hand, I'd as a native speaker tend not to distribute the different genders over the noun ami in that instance, and when we do that, it's the masculine gender that wins. (Confused yet? ![]() TL;DR: Bonne nuit mes amis! (A more idiomatic phrasing would even switch the possessive for a generic deictic -> Bonne nuit les amis!, but that's even more subtle to explain ^^). Yes, French grammar is ghastly ![]() (Take my terminology with a grain of salt, I'm not used to speaking about French grammar in English ![]() Last edited by NiLuJe; 02-20-2015 at 07:59 PM. |

Yet written it makes some sense. Though not academic language this acknowledges on gender differentiation with a focus on feminine's, precisely because it's the last word of the sentence. ![]() |

It's hard to tell the difference between settings#3 and #4 but both are looking good.
